Alesso – Raise Your Head

Initially previewed by Sebastian Ingrosso when he and the rest of Swedish House Mafia took over disc jockey duties for Pete Tong and his BBC Radio1 Essential Selection, it was blended with the acapella of Calvin Harris’ cross-over hit ‘Feel So Close.’ That’s probably the go-to way of playing this new Alesso tune.

A banger, no. A weapon on the decks, yes.

‘Raise Your Head’ leaves a bit to be desired by itself, but when coupled with the right acapella or matched with the right instrumental, this could be a bomb live. That was most likely Alesso’s idea with this release.

The idea of the mash ups rolling in beginning with ‘Raise Your’ is certainty not out of the realm of possibilities, this winter.

2011 has been quite a year for the Swedish prodigy. All year long, he was side-by-side with at least one of the Swedish House Mafia capos. Or on stage, somewhere in the world, with Dirty South. All that thanks to his earth shattering remixes of ‘Pressure‘ and ‘Save The World.

Rumors and, possibly, mislabeled Youtube videos have a collaboration with Avicii in the works.

About those mash ups that are likely to roll in, it would be fitting for the first to be ‘Raise Your Glass.’

Get to work mash up-heads.

Cheers, Alesso.
