Audien – Eventide / Unity
As a Connecticut native, it is always refreshing to hear homegrown talent make waves in the EDM world, and Audien, who is one of Anjunabeat’s newest artists represents his home state well, with his two newly released tracks, ‘Eventide’ and ‘Unity.’Â In both tracks, Audien easily blends a beautiful melodic trance style with a distinct house beat, producing an end product that is a perfect example of progressive trance, or, as I prefer, Trance 2.0.
‘Eventide’ is a slow-building track that culminates in wonderfully catchy and distinctly tranc-y riff. It is a truly beautiful song and the trance world is taking note, with it reaching Beatport’s Top 25 Trance Chart today. ‘Unity’ is a faster paced track with heavier drops that is sure to be a hit with trance and house DJs alike. The grit of the drop is a surprising change of pace from ‘Eventide,’ but the haunting vocal loop reminds us that Audien is still trance at heart.
