Tom Flynn is no stranger to dance music enthusiasts. Having shown face on many labels such as Dirty Bird all the way to Mobilee – Flynn is spreading like wildfire. This time, Nick Curly snatches him up to debut a a four-piece EP on his 8-bit Records! Four solid original productions epitomizing Tom Flynn’s interpretation of the different angles in deep house. The UK native has consistently brought a certain groove to his productions – this EP is no different.
Everything I am has been produced in a way that just gravitates its listeners . A subtle wooden block-esque noise that comes every so often, with uplifting chords to piece this original together. Just when you think that’s it over, a groovy melody that feels just right consumes the track whole. Once your ears get a hold on Loose Your Mind, there’s no turning back. Changing paths and going darker within his sound. Flynn has embodied the vibes you feel at the beginning of a night straight into the after hours, all in one EP.

The beckoning for hypnotizing vocals over deep bass lines has returned. As the weather begins to shy away from the unbearable cold and lean towards the sunny spring days, Rami Deejay and Corey Baker (1/2 of WildKatz) present us with a remix that is sure to get you to want to boogie down. Rami and Corey decided to veer away from the break beat feel that the original track had – taking us on a more soulful and emotional ride. As the eerie noises, groovy bass lines, and demonic voices continue – this remix was made to destroy an after hours dance floor. Brooklyn native, Rami Deejay, is someone for all deep house enthusiasts to keep their eye on! Catch him in action at The DL in NYC tonight! Event info here.

This past Sunday commenced the beginning of Cipriani’s Sunday Series, which meshes together the culture of dance music with the bottles and models of the New York City nightlife. A regular Sunday evening turned into an elegant night filled with a crowd of vagabundos swooning towards the grooves of Cadenza mates, Nadeev and Luciano. After waiting for over two months for tech house titan to make his rescheduled appearance, this night turned out to be what many fan’s wanted and much more.
This Sunday April 14th, Cadenza Records label head, Luciano, headlines the premiere of Cipriani’s monthly Series; a unique feature bridging the gap between New York’s most weathered music veterans and the top tier of posh New York City nightlife. Cipriani’s presents a lavish Sunday evening affair during the calculated time slot of 6pm-2am, allowing attendants to experience a rare and coveted booking in the breathtakingly crafted Cipriani Ballroom, and still (barely) make it to work on Monday. Luciano was last in NYC playing the New Years Day event at the compound in Brooklyn, powerfully captivating attendees with layers of gritty latin-influenced percussion, artfully blended with a level of mastery landing him in the top echelon of dance music pioneers among the likes of Richie Hawtin, Loco Dice and Marco Carola. Purchase tickets here to gain entry to one of the truly more special events intersecting worlds of the most purist music fans and the decadent champagne lifestyle.
After the monumental ASOT600 tour, Armin van Buuren had trance fans begging for more. This time, the trance icon is bringing us all together for the debut tour of his FIFTH full-length album. Having been working on this for the past three years, this album is sure to take us on the same musical journey that Armin has been riding for quite some time now. “Intense” is to be released the day before the madness of this tour begins, May 3rd.
Three years later and it is finally complete, Armin van Buuren’s INTENSE album feels like a victory lap from one of the world’s most popular and hardworking DJs and producers. Intense will show all listeners the versatility that Armin has continuously been promoting, while still keeping the feel of his signature sound that we all love. Taking us into a less familiar path, Intense, is certain to shock old and new fans. The final result hints to be just another supporting detail to Armin’s reputable reputation that has preceded him for over a decade.
This Friday, Highline will be swarmed with Verbotenite’s, yet again, and they all share the same common interest of losing their mind to some powerful grooves. Per usual, the line-up reminds us why New York’s nightlife is really untouchable. Headlining the night is the all too familiar tech-house mogul, Joris Voorn, and without his usual partner-in-crime – so we get him all to ourselves! As if that wasn’t enough, This and That label head, Davide Squillace, will also be joining in on the fun. Two DJs that have been known to really dominate the dance floor and take the reigns on the total groove of a crowd.
Accepting the challenge of opening up and setting up the early vibes is Los Angeles native, Trent Cantrelle! A night out with Verboten is guaranteed to be a long one, so make sure you don’t miss a second of it!
