Before we close out the week that was, one last release.
From the man behind Lady Gaga’s music, Red One, we are presented with Zander Bleck. Perhaps the new face of rock n’ roll, perhaps not. Time will tell. His debut single ‘Temptation’ will be clogging up radio’s this summer, so get familiar.
Of course it wouldn’t be 2012 without a remix package for a pop song, though. Those enlisted, respectable names, mind you, did a fantastic job with each of their re-works
Disfunktion has become a much-heralded name in the progressive community of late. With some Eric Prydz-inspired, deep-progressive sounds they give us a tease at something great.
Sick Individuals give, perhaps, the best offering. A miminal-electro melody with pop. A must listen.
The dub step remix (there always has to be a dub step remix) belongs to Hype Jones. The drop is more wobble than dub. Minimal dub step?
Seamus Haji’s take has elements of hard dance/hands up-house. A sound not heard too often these days.
Released yesterday, this under-appreciated track will perhaps get its due credit through an array of remixes.
Above all, Laidback Luke’s thinking tops every other effort. It’ll be hard to drop his drum build up-slash-drop. We’ve been waiting for his since Hardwell previewed it last fall on his radio show.
The Tom Staar & Sam Young Remix is a solid electro production and is surely worth a listen. Michael Woods offers up a psy-progressive mix. The final two, Torqux and Violet Oversoul give us a dub step and chill out remix, respectively.
If all else fails, go with Laidback Luke’s.

‘If you close your eyes it’s a beautiful world’–you might remember those vocals from winter 2011 trouse hit from Tiësto and Mark Knight. Some 18 months later (give or take) they’re getting a full remix package.
Flash back to October. Hardwell debuted the festival-style Laidback Luke remix on his radio show. From then though, nothing. Well, it’s here. Finally.
To go along with the incredible (yes, pretty incredible) Laidback Luke remix is the progressive Michael Woods remix and the dubstep and abstract, respectively, remixes from Torqux and Violet Oversoul.
Due out April 30 on Toolroom Records.
