Armada Music has announced that young trance duo W&W, comprised of Willem van Hanegem Jr. and Ward van der Harst, have now launched their own imprint entitled Mainstage Music. W&W will use the label to release not only their own tracks, but also a personal selection of other artists’ productions.
We were fortunate enough to interview the Dutch duo down in Miami where they first mentioned their plans to create the new label. Armada Music made the announcement official yesterday. W&W are most recently recognized for their hit, ‘Invasion’. The duo has followed up ‘Invasion’ (the anthem for ASOT 550) with “Shotgun‘ (released April 9th), which features some skull crushing bass and a pretty dope buildup that reminds me of vintage Tiësto.
The acid sound is a timeless one that, if executed correctly, can create some of the biggest club tracks of all time. Just listen to Afrojack’s ‘Pacha On Acid‘ (which was actually a remake of an old Steven Angello track, hence why it was released on Angelo’s imprint SIZE). Here is a well-produced remix of a Dero track, who is signed to Robbie Rivera’s Juicy imprint. Tony Arzadon uses video-game esque synth hits in the breakdown and big acid house sounds to create a massive tune.
While not always the biggest fans of the chainsaw massacre remixes that R3hab puts out, the preview for Dyro’s remix of his ‘The Bottle Song’ is pretty darn catchy. R3hab’s original productions (see his collab with Swanky Tunes ‘Sending My Love‘) tend to blow his remixes out of the water so we almost want to beg him, more self-productions pretty please!!
Dyro is a new name rising up from the Dutch tradition and with pals like Nicky Romero and Hardwell in his court, along with solid tracks like this one and EMP with Jacob van Hage, chances are he will be blowing up in the very near future. No word on release date so stay tuned.
Out April 18 on Dirty South’sPhazing Records, his young prodigy Michael Brun is back with another stellar preview with Special Features entitled ‘Synergy.’ Brun’s track ‘Rising‘ has been receiving top billing and support from the highest echelons of electronic music. EO sat down with the young producer even before his ‘Rising’ notability came to light – see what the college student/music maker had to say here.
PREVIEW: Michael Brun & Special Features – Synergy
With his latest release since the acclaimed ‘Spitfire EP,’ the young American continues to develop his sound and cross between pounding electro and melodic trance. ‘Language’ has been receiving support from some of the best in the biz, featured heavily on podcasts from Above & Beyond, Gareth Emery, Hardwell and more. At only 19, he continues to be one of the brightest stars in the EDM universe, scoring prime time festival gigs across the country. ‘Language’ is a masterpiece. Plain and simple.
Don’t sleep on giving this a listen, you’ll be pressing repeat more than a few times.

Looking back at our Most Anticipated Tracks of 2012 list who would have thought that ‘Atom’ would be the people’s No. 1 selection.
Seriously, the buzz it has gathered since Miami Music Week is unreal.
Dark and aggressive are its two themes. Those sounds will make a good run at usurping Thomas Gold’s ‘Sing2Me‘ for Beatport’s No. 1 spot.
This will be one of the definitive tracks of 2012.
Hard. As. Fuck.

In preparation for his next installment of Club Life, Tiësto teams up with LA based producer Wolfgang Gartner to give us a brand new tune called ‘We Own The Night.’ Released today on Musical Freedom, the track features catchy pop vocals by Luciana accompanied with some classic Wolfgang wailing bleeps (sounds similar to ‘Space Junk‘). Two heavyweights getting together here, so it’s an absolute must listen.
