We celebrated the digital release of ‘Ammunition, Pt.3′ today on Mixixy, and Alex Metric completely killed it. ‘Ammunition Pt. 3′ touches on many genres of Electronic music, showing London native Metric’s producing versatility. Alex’s sound is deeply rooted in earliest styles of underground dance music, touching on Disco, Funk, Chicago House and Detroit Techno as well as Indie Rock. The perfect soundtrack for sweaty, dimly lit lofts and huge festivals the world over. Scandalism takes a Nudisco turn with a funky beat mixed with Electro vibes. Our favorite track is ‘Rave Weapon 2′ , with an array of sounds, intense basslines, and a drop geared for the EDM extremists. All 4 tracks have a uniqueness to them, and it is a perfect way to create an EP for the masses, while showcasing one’s talent. You get a good feeling when you hear tracks that aren’t the typical Electro House breakdowns or Dubstep romps, and Alex Metric has accomplished that with ‘Ammunition Pt. 3′.

The Protocol label head and crossover dance music mastermind, Nicky Romero, releases his highly-anticipated single, “Symphonica,” exclusively on Beatport via Protocol Recordings. With an already fantastic 2013, Nicky continues to out do himself and galvanize the masses with his genre-defying prowess. He demonstrates his forward-thinking mentality by incorporating a full fledged orchestra into the appropriately named “Symphonica.” The track moves through a gorgeous, alluring string section before quickly transforming into an undeniably mind-blowing electro-house anthem complete with an infectious melody. The Dutch superstar bridges the gap between two completely different music worlds for an absolutely stunning effect. Expect nothing but innovation from Nicky Romero and Protocol Recordings for the rest of the year and beyond.

With Ultra Music Festival set to kick off in a mere three days, another festival anthem has been released; this time by Dutch heavyweight Afrojack. The follow up to ‘Annie’s Theme’, ‘Air Guitar’ has all of the elements that Afrojack continuously infuses into his productions. A soothing, melodic introduction precedes a hard hitting, electro-esque climax which is sure to get hearts beating at a dangerously high rate when it is dropped at the festival in a few short days. Lazy Rich released his newest single ‘Insomnia’ and it is an extremely addictive track. The euphoric vocals throughout the track are very catchy and fit in amazingly well with the piano and synth work done by Lazy Rich. The amazing production done with this song ensure it will be one of the best tracks released this month. The big drops, and nice melodies will definitely catch any electro fan’s attention. The vocals in this track also give it massive radio potential.
Lazy Rich has had a good few years producing music. In 2011 his career began to see massive improvements as he was named underdog to watch, and proved why, topping the Beatport charts multiple times with his astounding underground tracks. This track definitely will not be an exception to what people have come to expect from the young producer.
