The DJ you want to hear when gearing up for a night of clubbing and dancing is Chris Lake. Every track he releases brings an emphatic style that leaves you fist pumping and gallivanting wherever you are. His last released track with Michael Woods ‘Black Thong’ made its away across the universe whether in a club, arena, or festival so far this year. Lake follows that up with dark energy leading to an intense build up and an even more intense drop in ‘Ohh Shhh’. The filthy basslines and melodic breakdowns will make you begging for more.
After last years hit single ‘Rocksteady’, The Bloody Beetroots have hit us with yet another track and it’s just as zany. The brand new track features a bit of The Bloody Beetroots A.K.A Sir Bob Cornelius Rifo classical training. This is evident during a breakdown which sounds like it could easily belong to a soundtrack to a movie. Most of Bob Rifo’s work is either hit or miss. And strangely, this one shouldn’t, but just works. It all clicks and makes for a great track.
The rest of this year should prove to be an interesting one from The Bloody Beetroots. The Italian is set to launch his new social media platform titled “The Real Church of Noise”. Furthermore, he is rumored to be releasing an album later this year, but that remains to be seen. After all, if there’s one thing about him, it’s that we never know what he’ll do next.

Having just completed their Road To Ultra North American Bus Tour, a dazzling 9 show adventure that took Fedde Le Grand and Sultan + Ned Shepard from Atlantic City to Ultra Music Festival, the three artists release a much-anticipated track right before weekend 2 of UMF, ‘Long Way From Home’. ‘Long Way From Home’ is a rework of RL Burnside’s 1978 blues jam ‘Poor Boy A Long Way From Home’ , keeping the catchy guitar riffs and vocals of the original, adding their own electronic groove on it with emphatic, distorted Electro and punchy hard bass lines. Call it the official anthem for the 9-city Road To Ultra tour. You may have caught Fedde Le Grand play this during the first 15 minutes of his set at Ultra, and were waiting for the full release of the track. Fedde was just at Pacha a few weeks ago, tearing the roof off the building. What a wonderful life to be a DJ. To travel the world and play beautiful music is everyone’s dream!

At just 20 years old, the Vermont native Pierce Fulton has had an ideal college life. The American producer has fulfilled every college kid’s wildest dream only to return to the classroom to balance his education with his professional touring schedule. His music has summoned the support of Tiësto, Above and Beyond, and Paul Oakenfold to name a few. 2012 was a great year for Fulton, mainly for his range of production and willingness to dive into a mind-bending variety of genres even within the same set. His ‘Sink or Swim’ EP was also a massive success. Fulton’s ‘Get Weird’ podcast on Sirius XM further rallies attention to his unbelievable skills. We always love to support DJ’s from the East Coast, especially when they have talent like Pierce.
Showcased on Above & Beyond’s Group Therapy on Friday , Pierce Fulton’s remix of Walden’s Intropial is gaining steam in the dance music world. Pierce Fulton adds tribal drum sections while accentuating the vocals with a heavy breakdown that will have you dancing from beginning to end. Look out for Pierce in 2013, he is definitely an artist on the rise.

American electro house producer and DJ, Wolfgang Gartner, has come out with his next funky tune, ‘Anaconda’. This original sound comes out on Ultra Records just in time to be showcased during Ultra and Miami Music Week. ‘Anaconda’ is Wolfgang’s first release of 2013. It’s a bouncy beat which features subtle vocals, wailing sirens, and percussive flairs; it’ll make you want to “let yourself go”.
Wolfgang’s philosophy on producing music is that he must be a pioneer to his genre, and this attitude is evident with each of his EPs, singles, remixes, and albums. He has performed at a plethora of events, including but not limited to Coachella, Electric Forest, Creamfields, Ultra Music Festival, and Electric Zoo. When Topher Jones released his hit single ‘Brohammer‘, it not only took everyone by surprise, it eventually became one of the best tracks of 2012. The right people noticed. So much so that when Gareth Emery wanted to have his hit song ‘The Saga‘ remixed, he specifically asked for Topher Jones. Topher was only too happy to oblige the English legend.
It seems that Gareth Emery has quite the eye for spotting talent as well. Topher’s remix isn’t just spectacular, it surpasses the original. Whereas the original mix’s drop seems forced and anti-climactic, the remix’s drop meshes with the song. Topher’s version captures the essence of the track. In fact, if someone were to tell you to compare both versions and guess which one was which, you’d guess that Topher’s was the original 9 times out of 10. Topher’s career is just getting started; it’ll be interesting to see what he has in store this year.

Last year, Joel Zimmerman A.K.A deadmau5 released his second Grammy nominated album: ‘> Album Title Goes Here <'. His fifth single off that album, is his collaboration with Imogen Heap, titled 'Telemiscommunications'. This track can be summed up in one word: odd. Everything about this track is odd, from the cranked down 90 BPM, to the lyrics which are about a long-distance relationship. That being said, it ultimately works flawlessly. The music is hauntingly beautiful and finds a great complement in Imogen's amazing vocals.
As always, deadmau5 proves that he is a musical enigma. The aforementioned 90 BPM is lowest that deadmau5 has gone since his album 'Project 56'. He has shown that he does not care about anyone's opinion other than his own. Musically, this proves to be a thriller. Nobody's sure what he'll do next, but they can be certain that it'll be great.
