Just about a year ago, we posted a live preview of Adrian Lux Feat. Lune – Fire. Now finally after more than 365 days of waiting, Lux posted a preview of the track to his Soundcloud with a real world release date of Feb. 7 on Ultra Records. Lux’s special brand of Indie Electro may just be the future of dance music as the genre transitions to become more main stream. The gentle vocals he employs on many of his tracks are easily digestible for those who are EDM aficionados and newbies alike. We spent some time with Lux back in December at Pacha and he has big things in store. If you’re anywhere near Vegas, get yourself to Marquee this Friday for a special performance of Lux and Gabriel & Dresen. Couldn’t think of a better Super Bowl weekend treat…
UPDATE: We just got word that Lux will release a radio edit, extended and instrumental version of Fire Feb. 7, then a remix package Feb. 21 featuring edits by R3hab, Jeremy Olander, Style of Eye and
the Mikael Weermets “Fire In The Hole” remix!
With the massive success of Le Castle Vania’s remix of Kaskade’s ‘Turn It Down’, Le Castle Vania has solidified himself as a dj/producer to be reckoned with. The Atlanta based producer has gone back to what first put him on the map in the rapidly growing genre of indie dance/nu disco with his newest single, ‘The Light’.
‘The Light’, which was officially released yesterday on Always Never Records, has a funky bassline that might even delve into the french house sound. Tracks like these don’t often get enough praise because it doesn’t have an “epic drop” or some wobble bs that amateur EDM ears are looking for. I on the other hand, can’t get enough. Love this type of music and it fits right in with my wayyy overdue Moustaché mixes. Be sure to follow Le Castle Vania on Facebook!
With many, many high profile releases on this Monday, there is a 50 percent chance of ‘The Rain’ being the best of the day.
‘The Rain’ is a French-house-inspired track chalked full of retro samples and danceable vibes. Not to be confused with the Bingo Player’s ‘Cry,’ as the similarities start and end with the vintage vocals.
Olav Basoski, a master of pure house, gives us flashes of disco and brilliance with this title
Out today on Spinnin’ Records.

Nu Disco! Oliver Twizt returns from Mad Decent venture with Diplo, ‘GO‘ with a new Spinnin’ Records single. Vibes would be an understatement; if this track doesn’t have you movin’ you have issues. Available now along with remixes, it’s a record you’re going to want to download…
Nearly three months after getting a 1-minute preview on Adrian Lux’s Soundcloud, his ‘Jane Doe’ remix has finally been released.
Lux is a favorite around these parts. His indie/electronica productions stray far away from the mainstream anthems that clog speakers and websites around the globe. He is a master of indie house and his latest Rebecca & Fiona remix is another, in a string of many, that proves it.
The retro sound is remarkable and, possibly, an homage to Eric Prydz’s ‘Circles‘ remix. Lux has said that he is fond of his countryman’s work.
Big things are on the horizon for Mr. Lux. His debut album is set to be released March 7, just in time for Ultra Music Festival. Coincidentally, it’ll be released on Ultra Records.

The masterpiece that is M83′s ‘Midnight City‘ should not be remixed by anyone. That is, anyone not worthy. Just last week, Eric Prydz showed off a private version. Prydz. Worthy. Obviously. On a smaller scale, FIXYN, of Los Angeles, CA had an impressive 2011 with their electronica productions. FIXYN. Worthy. You’ll see.
Keeping the main melody that made ‘Midnight City’ the Victoria Secret success that it is, and adding some Madeon-like production efforts, FIXYN’s transformation resulted in an indie dance wonder.

Adrian Lux posted as a lovely Sylvester gift a rip of an unreleased track that he first dropped during a gig at Måndagsklubben in Åre, which according to Wikipedia and not personal knowledge, is a ski resort in his native Sweden. Adrian is a super talented producer, having been nominated for Best New Artist and Best Dance Grammys in 2011, along with being a very nice guy and not bad looking either, considering that he is a former model. This new track is a progressive hit with vocals which lets it straddle the progressive/indie dance line that Lux consistently wades so skillfully. He was at Pacha just a few short weeks ago and we hope he will be back soon! We will keep you updated on release dates and the name of Lux’s new track.

Indie house is truly hard to beat.
Myndset is a master producer all around, but when the LA-based mad scientist reworks popular indie tracks, more times than not, magic happens.
‘Somebody That I Used To Know’ was a popular song on the indie circuit this year, it also features one of the most–eh–‘artsy’ music videos. The indie nature and retro vibe that it gives off isn’t lost with Myndset’s retooling.
Sometimes house fans might forget how good full songs can be. Verses’, chorus’ and bass!
Everybody thank Myndset for this free download and like him on Facebook and follow his Soundcloud.
Gotye feat. Kimbra – Somebody That I Used To Know (Myndset Remix)
That statement doesn’t usually fly here in the States, but there’s no question that it gives credibility to house music.
‘Forever’ isn’t only French-made, but it’s true French-style. The updated disco sound, the looped sample, the washed out, beach radio quality of the track. French-made. French-style.
The sample Antoine Clamaran dug in the cassette bin for is Andy Taylor’s 1987 song, ‘I Might Lie.’ The vocal works great, 25 years later, on an EDM platform.
He also set the pace Saturday night at Pacha NYC when he, Hardwell, Martin Solveig, R3hab and Quintino came to town.
Now , there is this release that he debuted just a few hours ago on his Facebook page. In standard Lux fashion, he delivers us a progressive-indie dance tune that has crossover appeal.
With Movember at it’s end, I feel it’s been wayy too long since I’ve shared the latest installment of If A Moustaché Made Music. With my tardiness comes added tunes (twelve of em!), so that should be a bonus. At the same time, some of these tracks can be dated as far back as early 2011. Figured I’d try something a little different this time around and provide a playlist rather than individual songs. Enjoy.

After the jump I’ll be sure to share little tidbits about each song and artist. Illiterate need not “read more”.
