Quentin Dupiuex, better known as Mr. Oizo, is releasing his new album for free on his website www.oizo3000.com. Oizo is known for his bizarre sounds and overall weird music. He is probably the most experimental producer out there, and this album fits that mold. There are some semi dance floor friendly tracks however. Even if you don’t like his peculiar brand of french electro, the website itself is worth checking out!
This is big news for the dance music community. Insomniac Events, which is the group that throws the legendary Electric Daisy Carnival, is launching its first ever conference on June 5-7 of this year, right before the actual festival occurs on June 8-10 in Las Vegas. The conference will be hosted by industry kingpin Jason Bentley, and will involve panel discussions, key note speakers, and DJ tutorials. The timing for this type of conference is ideal in that the scene as a whole is experiencing massive growth. You can expect this conference to be comparable to WMC in years past. Fact: You’re not a top-tier DJ until you get your own elaborate stage design.
Not that Avicii’s Le7els tour needed a boost, but the marketing geniuses that have turned Avicii into an international dance music phenomenon have given him his own elaborate stage design (a la Deadmau5.) First seen at Coachella last week, Avicii DJ’s high above the crowd on a molding of a face (Andross from Star Fox, anybody?) Check out these pictures courtesy of Rukes for more.
Hard to argue, the set up and the light show is stellar work. The crowd tends to agree at .08. It’s unknown if he’ll be bringing along this to EDC in a few weeks, but that face in the north end zone at Met Life Stadium would be epic.

Most recently, the Goa trance veterans Infected Mushroom have unveiled something truly spectacular that you have to see to believe. The same production team used to create Amon Tobin’s iconic ISAM live set up was used here, and the result is mesmerizing.
Also just announced in conjunction with Electric Zoo is a Tiësto meet and greet contest, which will give two lucky winners plus a friend each the chance to hang with the Dutch master at EZF. Further details will land on the EZF Facebook page here closer to the date.

It is a very sad day for house music fans everywhere as the legend Danny Tenaglia announced that he is ‘resigning’ (found on his Facebook). After 30+ years of manning the decks all over the world and touching the hearts of many ‘Il Maestro’ is taking an open ended hiatus from the DJ booth. It is fair thing to say that he has played a key role in building the EDM community for what it is today, from the humble beginnings as a tight nit community in dungeon clubs throughout New York City to the massive festivals worldwide Danny has been there playing his famous marathon sets amazing all who were lucky enough to witness them. Danny will be playing his last party at Pacha on April 28th for his belated birthday and Vinyl Reunion (Tickets). It is highly recommended for those who have yet to see the master work to be there for it will be a night to remember forever.

Tiësto is back in his quest to conquer the dance music world, this time forging a partnership with the music app ‘Tap Tap Revenge’ working to give fans an early listen to his Club Life: Volume Two Miami compilation slated for release April 24 via his own label, Musical Freedom.
Tiësto is going to take hold of the app starting tomorrow, and put up a Feature Track of the Week for his new single, Tiësto & Wolfgang Gartner – We Own The Night ft. Luciana. The collaboration will continue for a week, and includes free Feature Track of the Day that will allow players to download and tap along to more fresh Tiësto tracks and even ask him questions, with the opportunity to beat Tiësto’s score to win signed copies of the compilation.
