PREVIEW: Pryda – Leja

By MichelleKUPP (@MichelleKUPP) on April 25th 2012

As proclaimed by Eric Prydz himself on Zane Lowe’s BBC 1 radio show just a few hours ago, ‘Leja’ is not only named after his daughter but also one of the most ‘down-tempo’ tracks on the album, along with one of his favorites. If that isn’t a serious enough endorsement to get you to listen, the deep, dark Pryda moniker is at his best with this track. EO approved.

Henrik B & Rudy – Leave A Light On (+ NO_ID Remix)

By Joey Joey Joey (@JoeyJoeyJoeyy) on April 23rd 2012

The latest release from the juggernaut that is Axtone Records.

No disappointments here, Axwell picked a winner. ‘Leave A Light On‘ could potentially take over the spot in a DJ set once reserved for ‘In My Mind.’ It has all the makings of a big-room Swedish banger. With the weather warming up, expect this one to be one of the summer anthems.

The NO_ID remix, which was released today along with the original, goes in a different direction. Progressive, but not so much big-room. Those who are bored of the Swedish big-room sound may prefer the more advanced, gimmick-free melody

Bombs Away – Ridiculous feat. Big Nab (Hyperbits Remix)

By J-Brown (@EO_JBrown) on April 23rd 2012

The first official Hyperbits release is a remix of Bombs Away featuring Big Nab: “Ridiculous”. The remix package, which was released on Universal Australia/LNG last week, comes equipped with big tracks from Sgt Slick (who remixed Avicii’s “Malo” in 2010) and Kid Kenobi amongst others, but the stand out in the package is definitely Hyperbits’ offering. A solid blend of in-your-face electro and well structured house music, this remix gets BIG in a hurry.

PREVIEW: Pryda – Javlar

By MichelleKUPP (@MichelleKUPP) on April 23rd 2012

As just debuted during Zane Lowe’s show on BBC Radio 1, here is Eric Prdyz’s darker, progressive namesake Prdya’s newest track to be heard ‘Javlar.’ Prydz intoned that it took him a good six months to get this one right, bouncing it off crowds and seeing reactions to fine tune it until he got it totally ready.

His upcoming album ‘Eric Prydz Presents Pryda’ is Lowe’s album of the week and he will be playing tracks from it every day so tune in!

PREVIEW: Pryda – Agag

By MichelleKUPP (@MichelleKUPP) on April 22nd 2012

First heard as a world debut during Pete Tong’s Essential Selection this past Friday, ‘Agag’ coming from Eric Prydz’s deeper progressive moniker Pryda. ‘Agag’ is just another track that proves that Prydz can do no wrong. His album coming May 21 on EMI ‘Eric Prydz Presents Pryda’ is going to arguably be one of the most anticipated house music events of the year.

PREVIEW: Pryda – Allein

By Joey Joey Joey (@JoeyJoeyJoeyy) on April 20th 2012

If you aren’t excited for the Eric Prydz album, please leave the room.

The mainstream society has not caught on to Mr. Prydz yet. Probably due to the lack of North American visits (ah! Airplanes!) Good thing, though. Once European dance music comes state-side it always seems to get watered down.

Never Prydz, though.

One of the best deep-progressive producers in the industry, his name is well respected in the dance music community.

If ‘Allein’ is indicative of his forthcoming album, DJs will have to step up their game. No gimmicks here.

Pure progressive.

Tiësto & Mark Knight Feat. Dino – Beautiful World (The Ecstasy Remixes)

By Joey Joey Joey (@JoeyJoeyJoeyy) on April 19th 2012

‘If you close your eyes it’s a beautiful world’–you might remember those vocals from winter 2011 trouse hit from Tiësto and Mark Knight. Some 18 months later (give or take) they’re getting a full remix package.

Flash back to October. Hardwell debuted the festival-style Laidback Luke remix on his radio show. From then though, nothing. Well, it’s here. Finally.

To go along with the incredible (yes, pretty incredible) Laidback Luke remix is the progressive Michael Woods remix and the dubstep and abstract, respectively, remixes from Torqux and Violet Oversoul.

Due out April 30 on Toolroom Records.

PREVIEW: Henrik B & Rudy – Leave A Light On (+ NO_ID Remix)

By Joey Joey Joey (@JoeyJoeyJoeyy) on April 18th 2012

0:00 – Radio Edit
1:23 – NO_ID Remix

Another Swedish House Mafia decedent is about to take over the Beatport charts (half of the progressive chart belongs to its affiliates.)

‘Leave A Light On’ is the Axtone follow-up to ‘Sing2Me,’ and it is everything you’d expect. Huge Piano’s and great vocal-work from Rudy. You’ll be reminded of Axwell’s affection for Henrik B with this one. And look how nicely it blends with ‘The Island‘ (17:35.)

NO_ID, who has become a favorite of Axwell over the last few months, offers up a more subtle, drum-y drop in its remix. NO_ID seems to have been on a tear since this happened.

Both the original and NO_ID remix will be out Monday (yay! No long wait.)

Gotye – Somebody I Used to Know (WeSmile ‘Rising’ Bootleg)

By Joey Joey Joey (@JoeyJoeyJoeyy) on April 18th 2012

You hear that buzzing noise? That’s the fan base slowly getting behind the WeSmile duo.

Put this with the dBerrie and Myndset remixes. A huge progression coupled with the windy synths sprinkled throughout make for a sure hit.

Released today for free download from the soon-to-be-former-best-kept-secret in Sweden.

Michael Calfan – Mozaik

By Joey Joey Joey (@JoeyJoeyJoeyy) on April 16th 2012

From the maker of the wildly supported ‘Resurrection,’ ‘Mozaik’ looks to be one of the premiere tracks heading into the summer club season.

With an impressive synth lead and breaks that cry out for acapellas, this will undoubtedly be a favorite of big-room DJs.

Out today on Stealth Records.
