LIVE PREVIEW: Hardwell – Three Triangles

By Joey Joey Joey (@JoeyJoeyJoeyy) on May 15th 2012

If you aren’t impressed by the electro of the moment and the artist that have spawned because of it, listen to this. One of those artists has moved away from that sound and did something that is, well, good.

Not your typical Hardwell track. Not the Hardwell you’ve been hearing for the last year or so, at least (remember this Hardwell?) This one sounds, dare you say, tech-y?

Electro tech.

The simple melody seems to work a lot better than the face melting synth forced on us.

No release information as of yet, but stay tuned.

By The Puritan (@EO_Puritan) on May 14th 2012

The kids want techno! A collaboration between two highly skilled producers has yielded a great production, so great that Moby has widely supported it. Produced by Bulgarian DJ Lion and Italian Luigi Rocca, ‘Repeat Repeat’ is a scud. This track features various characteristics of both techno and tech house. It is so jam packed with rhythm and has such a filthy bassline, it will make any purist go nuts. For all you techno lovers out there, be on the lookout for further releases from 303 Lovers. This label has a great track record for releasing top notch music.

Maya Jane Coles – Not Listening (DJ Kicks Exclusive Track)

By J-Brown (@EO_JBrown) on April 16th 2012

Maya Jane Coles is the queen of the underground, and no one will argue that. She has recently put out a mix entitled “DJ Kicks” and it showcases Maya moving away from the housey sound that she has embodied, and becoming more diverse and experimental. This track is a track that is exclusive to the mix, and it is absolutely brilliant. Take a listen to this tasteful record that uses amazing vocals and slight traces of dubstep wobbles. Also, an amazing and informative mini-documentary has just been released and you can watch that HERE.

Butch – LSD-25

By The Puritan (@EO_Puritan) on April 12th 2012

WOW! Rock and house come together? How is it possible? Some can say they remember the days when rock idols such as Van Halen or The Crew used to bang out guitar solos that could drive a crowd berserk. Today during this EDM revolution we have lost touch with the roots that had preceded us. Long lost are the days where concerts consisted of two axes, a drum set, bass player and a screaming lead singer. But today, for those of you who happen to appreciate the classic rock genre or rock of any kind for that matter, German DJ/Producer Butch has managed to infuse both rock and house in his new production ‘LSD-25′. Released on monster label Cecille Records, this track gives the feeling of Woodstock. With a guitar rift that sounds as if Slash were sitting next to Butch as he lay out the percussion work, it creates the utmost serenity. Kudos to Butch for bringing Hendrix style rock back to house!

&ME – Matters

By The Puritan (@EO_Puritan) on April 10th 2012

One thing that can be said about Nic Fanciulli’s Saved Records is that the releases are consistently awesome time and time again. On Saved’s most recent release they feature German producer and Keinemusik co-founder &ME. Well renowned for his unique soulful sound, &ME kills it with the masterful production ‘Matters’. This tune is so packed with rhythm that it is a sure guarantee to take any mix to the next level. One thing in specific that sticks out above all in this track is the unique breakdown and buildup. At around 1:00 of the track there is a percussive buildup that sounds as if Tommy Lee was giving us a drum solo. That infused with a narrative creepy sample keeps the listener intrigued yearning for the drop. The people who criticize tech house music tend to say that it may be repetitive or ask “Where is the drop?”. It is safe to say not one person will be asking that when referring to ‘Matters’.

Pirupa – Party Non Stop

By The Puritan (@EO_Puritan) on April 3rd 2012

What was considered to be the track of WMC, ‘Party Non Stop’ is nothing short of a bomb. Produced by the young Italian, Pirupa, this track has been on many DJ’s set lists. Pirupa is coming off a streak of hot releases which include two Beatport number 1′s, therefore it is no surprise that a label rich with talent like Desolat would pick up the track. The combination of a fat rolling bassline infused with a vocal that is somewhat of a DJ credo, this track will create the atmosphere party goers yearn for. It is an upbeat tune that makes anyone within hearing distance bob their head.
