Today Anjunabeats released Mat Zo’s highly anticipated single, ‘The Sky’. We here at EO are big fans of the London born DJ and with ‘The Sky’ he gives us even more reason praise his skills.
‘The Sky’, which features Linnea Schossow, is Matt Zo’s first ever tune that features vocals and he definitely did it right! ‘The Sky’ has both a club and extended mix that are equally dope. The extended mix provides a more trance infused tune with an eloquent and slowly rising build that perfectly intermingles with Schossows vocals. The club mix has some signature big room progressive sounds that throttles with bass and surging synths. Both provide varying sound though each has it’s own pros that are auditory relative.
Zo’s popularity has him rising higher and higher into EDM stardom and he has answered his growing demand with a North American Tour. Unfortunately, the closest he gets to us here in NYC is Philly but if you do decide to go, he’ll definitely be worth the trip. Full tour dates after the jump!
It’s been awhile since we’ve had any firm news about an Arty track. Today he has announced the imminent release of his new tune ‘Open Space’ out June 18 on Anjunabeats. ‘Open Space’ has the signature euphoric chorus lines that Arty generally employs, but a harder edge that you don’t hear in his other tracks. A bit more kick drum, a bit more fire. We like!
One of the up and comers from the Mau5trap label, German wunderkind Moguai has just released his trumped up, crunked up, silky smooth progressive house banger remix of his own track Lyme that came out on his EP earlier in the year. The original version from the Mpire LP is shorter, more melodic trance music, but this remix is longer, louder, glitchier, and heavier.
Moguai has some shows coming up in the United States scattered throughout the West Coast, but nothing on the East coast yet. You can find his tourdates on his website.
Fresh off their retrospective release last month, Anjunabeats vets Super8 & Tab indicate they have no intention of becoming a nostalgia act with today’s anthemic release ‘Black is Back.’ While the high-octane Club Mix has already become a fixture in their live sets, the Finnish trance duo also included a Classic Dub Mix and a Classic Vocal Mix, featuring the seasoned vocals of long-time Gabriel & Dresden collaborator Jan Burton alongside the track’s signature synth builds and melodic progressions. Enjoy these.

Anjunabeats is slowly taking over the house-world.
Maor Levi is helping lead that charge. With the impressive remix to Above & Beyond’s ‘Love Is Not Enough‘ and his Anjunabeats Worldwide mix, he is one of the shining figures on a star-studded roster.
‘Won’t Say No’ is the next progressive-trance song to dominate. If you don’t think so, skip ahead to 3:30 and listen to what starts to take place.
Diverse purveyor of music BT has just had his forthcoming album signed to Dutch label Armada Music, home to a vast array of some of the more talented dance music producers across the board.
US-based composer and technologist BT will release his album worldwide, yet another milestone in his illustrious career that has been marked by genre cutting collaborations and musical recognition. Set for release during the late summer, his as yet un-named 8th studio album is the accumulation of over two decades of dance music production and innovation .
Look for his collaboration ‘Must Be The Love‘ with young Russian Arty and vocalist Nadia Ali – set to be the first single to be released off the album this month – which was debuted by Arty during the ASOT 550 festival in LA.
Mondays! Great days for music, awful days for work.
Today was the release of Arnej’s new EP which features two new tracks called ‘We Unite’ and ‘True Lies.’ Both tracks have been a staple for sets not only by Arnej, but also by the godfather of Unicorn Slaying Trance, Markus Schulz (founder of Coldharbour Recordings). ‘We Unite,’ a solid little trance anthem, was also part of Markus Schulz’s LA ’12 compilation album. ‘True Lies’ has a more aggressive, clubby feel to it but it is an absolute monster of a track. Give both songs a listen and be sure to check out Markus Schulz this Friday at Pacha NYC.

If you listen to Above & Beyond’s weekly podcast Trance Around The World, you may have already heard an iteration of ‘The Sky,’ Mat Zo’s newest single with vocals from Linnea Schossow. That is because it has been included in one form or another for the past four weeks, which must be some sort of record (no pun intended).
That’s a high level of support, given that the track won’t be released for another two weeks May 14 via trance talent cultivating powerhouse label Anjunabeats.
Jochen van der Steijn AKA Jochen Miller has officially released his newest track ‘Zodiac’ on High Contrast Recordings. An absolute dance floor killer that is composed of melodic and audacious trance loudness. The lick resembles the remix that Axwell did of ‘Teenage Crime,’ but the addition of euphoric trance elements in this tune takes it to a whole new level. Quality stuff folks, check it out and go grab your own copy from beatport!

Featured on Anjunabeats Worldwide 04, ‘Tiburon’ at first listen, might sound like another Nitrous Oxide uplifting trance banger. But, once you get deeper in, you hear that hard chainsaw-like bassline and realize that this is not just another ‘iPeople‘, but a powerful big-room bumper.
We’ve been waiting for this one for awhile – Ashley Wallbridge first previewed his remix of Eric Prydz’s ‘Melo’ all the way back in February and the title (Ashley Wallbridge’s Inner Me Remix) suggested that it would be a part of his debut album. Alas, only a few hours ago did Ashley upload the full version to his Soundcloud. This is an emotive, trance inflected version of the progressive classic. No word on release date – look here for updates!
When it comes to progressive trance or just overall creativity, Mat Zo has to be one of the premiere producers right now.
Fresh off the stunning ‘Bipolar‘ EP, Zo continues the year with ‘The Sky.’ It features the abstract vocals of Linnea Schossow. This deviates from the typical Zo style, but of course he makes it work.
