Myon & Shane 54 – Lights

By Sandman (@Sandman_Oasis) on March 28th 2013

Out of seemingly nowhere, the Hungarian duo have produced an actual song. The two are usually found remixing already great trance tracks and making them even better. So actually producing a track is rare form for Myon & Shane 54. We can’t figure out why, it suits them well.

Lights is a wonderful trance beat that is reminiscent of older trance tracks while still maintaining a modern feel. It seamlessly switches between uplifting and ambient trance. Veteran vocalist and long time collaborator Aruna (with whom the two formed their side project ‘Velvetine’) provides fantastic vocals that tie the track together. One thing’s certain, we’ll be on the lookout for new tracks by Myon & Shane 54.

Dan Gravelle – Far Away feat. Vuk Lazar

By Shikey (@eo_shikey) on March 28th 2013

far away Dan Gravelle – Far Away feat. Vuk Lazar
Does this name ring a bell? It might not to you, but it sure does here at EO headquarters. Meet Dan Gravelle, the first ever winner of our long running Indaba Music Spotlight contest.

Way back in 2011 when picking Far Away as the winning track, we called it “anthem-esque” and “really well produced…sounds legit as hell.” And that was just the unmastered version! The fully produced and remastered rendition is a crisp and clean sounding track with the big emotive trance chords we all know and love.

Since being crowned our winner, Dan has been pumping out even more content, culminating in a 14 track album of original tracks titled, Sky High. The album dropped yesterday on iTunes and is a diverse collection of trance, house, and some downtempo melodies. You can sneak a full preview of the album on his SoundCloud.

But more than anything, congrats to Dan Gravelle on the big release! And hey, ya never know, maybe our next Indaba Music Spotlight winner will hit the big time too. You can still enter for contest #8!

Be sure to head over to Dan’s Facebook page for a FREE download of ‘Far Away’ and show some love, and head over to Vuk Lazar’s page too to support those great vocals.

Max Graham – Where You Are (Feat. Alana Aldea)

By Samantha (@ayy_samantha) on March 26th 2013

Where You Are Max Graham Where You Are (Feat. Alana Aldea)

Today Max Graham unleashed his latest gem, “Where You Are”, feat. Alana Aldea. This new single comes to us in the midst of anticipation for his next album, and this song gives us taste of what he has in store. The gentle melody coupled with a pounding bass provides a smooth background for the peacefully delivered lyrics. Max did a perfect job tying Alana’s angelic voice in with this track.

The Canadian producer has brought a unique sound all his own to the EDM arena. Rather than adhering to just one or two particular genres, Max has dabbled in an array of genres, including, but not limited to, progressive, trance, and techno. This multi-faceted artist has treated us to hits such as “Still There’s You” and “Sun in the Winter”, and acquired admirers through his rather favorable radio show, “Cycles Radio”. As is evident with his most recent display of skill, “Rebrand on Tour”, he commands control of the dance floor and is entertaining from start to finish.

Tritonal – Metamorphic

Tritonal MetamorphicI 960x960 Tritonal Metamorphic

After a week of chaos with shows left and right in Miami , Tritonal releases the first of 3 EPs, ‘Metamorphic’. All three tracks showcase that beautiful Trance sound we’re accustomed to hearing from the American born duo of Chad Cisneros and Dave Reed. Each track has melodic vocals that seamlessly draw you in and have you singing along after just a few listens. With the new EP, we wanted to display our growth as artists and take listeners on that journey with us.”, said Dave Reed, half of Tritonal. We reviewed ‘Bullet That Saved Me’ a couple weeks ago, and that track still stands out as the favorite, with smooth flowing lyrics and a great breakdown. We can’t wait to hear the two other EPs which will undoubtedly please Trance fans

Tracklist after the jump!

Ummet Ozcan, the Dutch producer releases another monster big-room anthem, ‘Here & Now’. Fresh off his collaboration ‘The Code’ with W&W, along with being the number one Beatport Track for weeks, Ummet Ozcan shows why he isn’t going anywhere with the release of ‘Here & Now’. Being showcased at Electric Zoo 2012 during W&W’s set, fans have been anxiously waiting for the actual release. The track has that anthem feel to it, where you know what will happen if it’s dropped anywhere; mayhem. Combining Big Room Trouse and classic Trance, Ummet finds the perfect medium to appeal to the masses of EDM. With support from Steve Aoki, Porter Robinson, Hard Rock Sofa, and many more, be sure ‘Here & Now’ will climb up the Beatport charts just like ‘The Code’.

Armin van Buuren feat. Trevor Guthrie – This Is What It Feels Like (Official Music Video)

By Tessla (@tessla22) on March 21st 2013

Armin van Buuren releases the video for ‘This Is What It Feels Like’ out on Armada Records. We are not really sure what’s going on in this video, other than the fact of the desert and two beautiful cars. It’s the first official single of the album that the dance world has been waiting for. The premier introduction to ‘Intense’, the fifth artist album of the world’s best DJ, Armin van Buuren. The track has such a Coldplay feel to it, with an uplifting melody and feel good vibe. Its official music video was shot in the great Nevada desert, in between Los Angeles and Las Vegas, by Pixelheaven.tv. It features Armin van Buuren and Trevor Guthrie, racing cars for ‘the hot girl’ on the sandy roads. The cool thing is that it is guest starring a legend: American adult-film legend Ron Jeremy, playing the supporting role as owner of the road diner where Armin and Trevor continue their battle. Who doesn’t envy the life of Armin Van Buuren. A State of Trance 600 will be heading to the Garden next Saturday, and tickets have been sold out for quite some time.

Au5 & I.Y.F.F.E. – Flower of Life

Au5 and I.Y.F.F.E. have had a crazy past year. The two won the Seven Lions official Beatport contest and have since rocketed onto the scene. Their newest track is not exactly normal. The reason for this can be summed up in two words: Dubstep Trance.

What the two have done with this track is fuse the high energy of dubstep breakdowns, with the extreme beauty of trance. This seems like a daunting task to say the least. However the two do an artful job, and have crafted the most intriguing track to debut in a while. Words alone cannot convey how spectacular of a job the two have done. Simply put, this track is a must listen.

Kyau & Albert – Glühwürmchen

Fresh off their album ‘Nights Awake’ , Kyau & Albert release Glühwürmchen. We have no idea how to pronounce the title, do you? The track showcases an upbeat melody with a Euphoric sounding drop. Glühwürmchen was released on ‘Anjunabeats Volume 10′ exactly two weeks ago from today .Glühwürmchen is a catchy track that has been played on radio shows and pod-casts since the compilation. All 30 tracks released have their own distinct sound, and we can’t point out a negative on any of them. If you haven’t gotten the chance to listen to Kyau & Albert’s ‘Nights Awake’ , it is a must. We reviewed the album last month, and it was nothing short of spectacular. Kyau & Albert have been in the Trance music scene for years, and when we get notice of a release, we have high expectations. They never disappoint.

Shogun – Drop / Supernova

By Tessla (@tessla22) on March 18th 2013

American Trance producer Shogun delivers two new tracks off Armin Van Buuren’s Armada Music. With many fans still reeling from his daring ‘UFO’, the mesmerizing ‘Skyfire’ and ‘Amplify’, ‘Drop’ and ‘Supernova’ shy away from typical Shogun productions , leaning toward heavier and dark basslines. ‘Drop’ is much more of a heavier track with a big-room type of feel , while ‘Supernova’ stays on the Trance side of things. We prefer ‘Supernova’ over ‘Drop’ due to our pure love of Trance, but both tracks show that Shogun has no limits on his productions. His productions have garnered the support of names such as Armin Van Buuren, Dash Berlin, Above & Beyond and Ferry Corsten and look for the American native only to improve.

Gabriel & Dresden – Tracking Treasure Down Revisted (Remixes)

By Sandman (@Sandman_Oasis) on March 12th 2013

1b Gabriel & Dresden Tracking Treasure Down Revisted (Remixes)

You could be forgiven for not ever hearing of the song ‘Tracking Treasure Down’. After all, the song is nearly seven years old. However, veteran trance producers ‘Gabriel & Dresden‘ are intent on changing that. This release comes off their record label ‘Organized Nature‘ (a subsidiary of Armada Music). The release contains a remix by ‘Dyro‘ and one by ‘Gabriel & Dresden‘ themselves.

2012 was a huge year for Dyro. However, it looks like Dyro’s set to have an even bigger 2013. February saw him release his collaboration with ‘Bassjackers‘ in the form of the single ‘Grid’. Additionally, he also released an amazing remix of Tiesto and ‘Swanky Tunes‘ track ‘Make Some Noise‘. This remix is another fantastic composition by him. The original ‘Tracking Treasure Down’ is clearly a trance song. What Dyro has done with this track is stay true to the trance roots of the track, while still putting his own imprint on it. As such, the track can most definitely be classified as Progressive House, categorized by shifts from zen-like ambient trance to a clearly House drop. All in all, this remix is up to par with Dyro’s recent work.

The second remix on this release is Gabriel & Dresden’s ON Remix. And although you wouldn’t think it possible, it’s even better than Dyro’s. The duo have done the exactly what Dyro did but in reverse. They incorporated elements of House into their rework making for a masterful composition. Merely looking at the BPM shows evidence of this. Wheras the original ‘Tracking Treasure Down’ had a BPM of 135, the new remix/rework has a BPM of 128. As such, the song is the perfect blend of House and Trance and is absolutely perfect as a re-imagining of the classic track.
