DI-RECT – Young Ones (The Remixes)
One of the last major remix packages to come out before 2011 expired was this from DI-RECT and their ‘Young Ones‘ single.
The alternative rock group licensed ‘Young Ones’ to an eclectic group of producers. Loopers & Dyro handled duties on, perhaps, the best remix of the entire package. They gave us a progressive, vintage-Swedish House Mafia vibe. Olav Basoski, a master of house, didn’t give us the disco inspired production you might expect, but his version is funky and full of sound. Sander Kleinenberg’s interpretation may have gotten switched with Basoski’s, because he delivers the house-y-est version.
The bottom four remixes are a mix of synthy progression (Dani L. Mebius & Billy The Klit,) slow progression (Dem Slackers,) dub step (Bronstibock) and abstract electronica (D-Felic.)
The remixes span nearly every genre of dance music and their is surely something for everybody. Listen below and rank these remixes.
