Who You Can’t Miss

Erick Morillo – He’s still got it. Don’t let people tell you he’s overrated. As a live DJ he is one of the best. Ever. If you haven’t had the experience, now would be a great time. Always lively behind the decks and lugging along a trunk of unreleased music spanning many genres, Morillo is the DJ’s DJ.

AN21 & Max Vangeli – Whoa, whoa. Why ‘can’t miss’ you say? These two are sitting on so much unreleased music it’s silly. With their ‘People Of The Night’ album on the way (eventually!) and a solid ‘in’ with Swedish House Mafia, we won’t just hear ‘Feel‘ and ‘Atom‘ and bangers of that ilk, but previews of new ones that will carry us through the summer. Track ID, anyone?

Under The Radar Performer

Junior Sanchez – That’s right and damn near ‘Who You Can’t Miss’ too. Junior Sanchez is a local legend. He’s been tearing up New York City nightclubs since many of us were in the womb. Of late, he’s gotten backing from Size Records and has become a secret weapon of sorts. Not your typical big-room Swedish progressive sound that the label owns, but a dirty Dutch-inspired mix of electro and progressive. It could be the hottest and most exclusive music of the day.

Racial Nomads – La Da’s Dance (Junior Sanchez Nite Version)

Who You Can Pass On

Steve Angello – Ohhhhh! Burn! No offense to him, but you can check out Sebastian Ingrosso a little later in the day for a frighteningly similar set. You do have to hand it to him a little though, of all three Swedish House Mafia members, he is most likely to differentiate from their standard set. Roll the dice if there is someone good playing during that time slot.

What We Want to Hear

Ellie Goulding – Starry Eyed (AN21 and Max Vangeli Remix)

correction/matter of the people’s opinion, but isn’t Danny Tenaglia the DJ’s DJ?!? also, in regards to an21 & mr. max while their production are always dope aren’t their lives sets a little ‘not smooth?!?’

  2. Justin Brown says:

they just tend to get very drunk. not for festival sets though. at e zoo they were dead sober. i had the pleasure of interviewing them directly after their e zoo set.

And Morillo is a close 2nd for the DJ’s DJ but yes Tenaglia is generally given that title (and for good reason)
