Electric Daisy Carnival NYC: What You Need to Know – circuitGROUNDS: ASOT (Saturday)

Trance Nation Unite.

Saturday at the circuitGROUNDS will be the trance haven of the festival which is hosted by A State Of Trance. While Friday holds the spot for the King of trance (AVB), Saturday’s lineup has a more well-rounded, all out trance annihilation.

Who You’ll See

Who You Can’t Miss

Markus Schulz– No brainer. The unicorn slayer himself, Markus Schulz. New Yorkers had the pleasure of seeing him last weekend at Pacha and it was unbelievable. The man knows how to put on a show and is relentless with his impecable track selection. Having said this, his festival sets are not like his club performances (aka not as many rabbit holes), BUT he still does a fantastic job. Check out his ASOT 550 sets at Den Bosch and Kiev if you would like to listen to some examples.

Under the Radar Performer

Rank 1. – Who? Yup, Rank 1. A dutch duo composed of Benno De Goeij and Piet Bervoets, they are highly acclaimed for their originality in the trance scene and have been putting out tracks since the late 90’s. Their dynamic genre-bending melodies are perfectly suited for an early festival set to ensure the day begins on the right note.

Jochen Miller.- Jochen Miller is an absolute savage. His festival sets are nothing short of amazing and it is highly recommended that you check out his other ASOT sets as they are a pleasure to listen to. His latest track ‘Zodiac‘ is a monster tune that you’ll definitely hear this coming Saturday.

Who You Can Pass On

ATB– Again, we’re not actively seeking to ruffle feathers. ATB followed up lackluster Electric Zoo main stage outing in 2010 with a solid rebound performance last year. He’ll likely be back this fall. The abundance of sonically diverse talent competing for the same time slot at other stages make it difficult to justify skipping them for yet another ATB set unless you simply have trance in your blood.
