Who You Can’t Miss

Sub Focus – The most exciting DJ at the CosmicMEADOW stage for the whole entire festival might just be Sub Focus. Sub Focus is particularly particular across the pond with the Brits, and is one of the biggest drum & bass DJ’s in the world. He has a lot of great looks on his resume, having toured with Pendulum, being a regular on DJ Annie Mac’s weekly BBC radio show, and he has a full length album under his belt. The last time Sub Focus was around New York was at the Electric Zoo, where the general consensus was that he shred the set to pieces. This is a good chance to catch a guaranteed great set from an eclectic and universally respected DJ.

Goldie – Before Dubstep, before Moby, way back when Drum N Bass was the buzzy, underground and hip subgenre of techno, Goldie was a superstar. His 1995 classic album Timeless was a crossover success and is listed as one of the best albums of all time in 1001 Albums to Hear Before You Die. Goldie definitely doesn’t come stateside too often, and if you are too housed out from Afrojack and Chuckie on Sunday, check out Goldie to hear one of the biggest names in drum & bass spin what will be a classic set.

Under The Radar Performer

Delta Heavy – Ben Hall and Simon James aka Delta Heavy have been pretty apparent since mid-2009 but have absolutely exploded in the drum & bass scene last year after their video for ‘Hold Me’ appeared on the UKF dubstep youtube channel (and had 1 million views and counting within 10 days). They are currently signed to the famed RAM records.

Who You Can Pass On

Nero – I really do love them and they really are awesome but if you’ve seen one NERO show, you’ve seen them all. They tend to play an almost identical track list as they played on their BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix during every set unless it’s a designated live show. If you HAVEN’T seen them, you definitely should check them out. If you have seen them (and/or don’t want to listen to ‘Welcome Reality in it’s entirety), this would be a great chance to check out another tent.

What We Want to Hear

Whoever wrote this needs to check their history. Moby was cutting tracks and spinning at raves in 90/91. Ever heard of the track “Go”? Way before goldie was goldie.
