Electric Zoo Festival 2012: What You Need to Know – Saturday: Riverside (Dim Mak)

Dim Mak is taking over the Riverside stage on Saturday which means it’ll absolutely be the definitive bass stage of the day. Get ready for not only awesome music ranging from house, to dubstep, to drum & bass, etc, but a lineup of artists with stage presence that is really hard to match. P.S. Watch out for the cake flying at your face courtesy of Mr. Aoki himself!

Make sure you check out all the Electronica Oasis guides to Electric Zoo:

Who You Can’t Miss

Kill The Noise – Cali dubstep producer Kill The Noise really knows how to bring it and get the party going. We caught him at both Webster Hall earlier this year, and Camp Bisco this Summer and his sets were easily in our Top 3 of either event. He throws down tracks that scale the very large spectrum that is dubstep from aggressive, metal-influenced LA bass to the dub- and funk-influenced UK sound, to Carnival, Trap, and beyond. Bring your dancing shoes for this one!

Datsik – Oh, Canada! Datsik is without a doubt one of the most popular North American dubstep producers, and with his Fall tour kicking off right after EZoo, he’s sure to play some brand spanking new tracks for you to get down and dirty to. But watch your head! There will most certainly be an abundance of over-excited bros in the crowd flailing about to the bass.

Under The Radar Performer

Dirtyphonics – Although not quite ‘Under The Radar’ (100k followers is no easy feat), Dirtyphonics are not as big as the other names on the lineup for the Dim Mak stage. The French four-piece usually plays a DJ set of dubstep, drum & bass, and drumstep but their set at EZoo will be a LIVE one! (AKA you’re in for a huge treat if you check them out!)

Who You Can Pass On

12th Planet – Although he was a pioneer of the genre (in the US, at least) at one point, 12th Planet’s been playing some really generic sets this year in comparison to last year. We get it, he’s boys with Skrillex. That doesn’t mean every other song he plays has to be by the OWSLA king. (We still love you, man! Just mix it up a little bit!)

What We Want to Hear
