Throwback Thursday: Simian Mobile Disco
I was reintroduced to this gem (‘Hustler’) by Simian Mobile Disco during the credits of the extremely overrated and wildly disappointing Electric Daisy Carnival Experience film, but hearing this song was perhaps the best part of that particular “experience”. SMD’s album “Attack Decay Sustain Release” was something that truly pushed me over the edge and was a catalyst in creating my dance music obsession.
‘Hustler’ was easily my favorite cut from that album (others include, ‘Sleep Deprivation‘, ‘It’s The Beat‘ and I can’t forget ‘I Believe’ because it has the best vocals I have ever heard…ever). ‘Hustler’ has awesomely infectious vocals as well, and the A-Trak remix might even do a better job utilizing them.
By the way, two members of the band Simian, who you all know from Justice’s hit ‘We Are Your Friends’ , are also members of Simian Mobile Disco. You learn something new every day! Happy Thursday!
