EVENT: Pretty Lights at Roseland Ballroom 10/30

On Wednesday, October 30th, Pretty Lights will be paying New York City’s legendary Roseland Ballroom a visit to support his latest studio album, A Color Map of the Sun. Joining Pretty Lights on stage will be his recently debuted live band consisting of Adam Deitch and Borahm Lee of Break Science, Scott Flynn of John Brown’s Body, Eric Bloom of Lettuce and Brian Coogan.

Ever since Pretty Lights shared the stage with the live band at Red Rocks this past august, speculation grew as to whether or not the gang would join him for his Fall tour. Derek Vincent Smith (aka Pretty Lights) recently confirmed this would indeed be the case in a Facebook status update.

“My dream has come true. I will be hitting the road for my 2013 fall tour with a FULL, AWESOME LIVE BAND! We will be fusing new, hot production with the live band’s gritty old school hip-hop soul break styles in a way that production and a live band have never been heard together before. The musicians that have come together for this manifestation of Pretty Lights are brilliant and so insanely talented. My world has grown from computers and live production to a full analog sound sculpting, band dubbing, bass playing, looping, synth and sample playing modular command center. It is so much fun. The Pretty Lights show has evolved, drastically. Red Rocks in August was the first live band show and we’ve been rehearsing ever since. Without a doubt, I am more excited than I have ever been to take the PL show on the road.” – Derek Vincent Smith

All those privy to Pretty Lights know that his live shows are quite the spectacle with extensive production to compliment his vivacious, soulful sets. With the addition of the live band, the evening is sure to be an exponentially memorable night. We hope to see you out there!
