#6-10: Most Anticipated Tracks of 2012

Last week, we gave you our top ten most anticipated artists. This week, it’s time for the releases we’ve been waiting ages for. No, not the ones coming in a week or two. We’re talking about the ones that were teased around the world in 2011, and have developed a cult following. The ones artists are constantly being hounded for on Twitter. The ones that have only seen the light of day because of a recording on an iPhone. These exclusive tracks, that we will give you over the next two days, are the essential tunes that are to be released sometime in 2012. Here is the first half of our list.
#6 Arno Cost, Norman Doray & Laidback Luke – ‘Trilogy’

One of the biggest track ID’s to come out of Tomorrowland 2011 was this creation by the unlikely trio. Norman Doray, himself, has teased this since the summer, but a release date has not been scheduled. Originally labeled as ‘Yummie,’ the 1960′s-inspired sound is likely to move bodies around the world upon its release.

#7 Bart B More – Glow/Bart B More & Felix Cartal – Cascade

Hopefully emerging soon via Bart’s Secure Recordings, are his solo effort ‘Glow,’ debuted in his Mishka Keep Watch Mix, and also upcoming collaboration, now titled, ‘Cascade‘ with Felix Cartal.
Glow is the next monster in a line of electro/techno/acid flavors that Bart is known for, like bass line thriller ‘Brap!‘ and the irrationally tasteful ‘Traction.’ He has cultivated some alien synths which battle his trademark percussion to produce a truly future sound. We’re looking forward to a release date on this masterpiece.
Recently supported in Felix Cartal’s weekend workout podcast ‘Cascade’ is the new collaboration between these two. Featuring one of the longest and most epic builds possible, it’s going to be hard to find someone not supporting this track. I think Bart is working on developing a new genre called riot music; make sure this gets added to your end of the world playlist.

#8 Katy Perry – Circle The Drain (Tommie Sunshine Remix)

Superbly sampled lyrics and one of the best productions to date take dance music to another level here; Tommie Sunshine invades Katy Perry’s ‘Circle The Drain‘ to provide a rave soundtrack only few have heard to this day. Perfected drum patterns and various layered additions compliment the rolling synths bouncing back and forth, up and down, in and out until a purely primal drop (reminiscent, in a way, to Nicky Romero’s iconic Flash remix) eliminates everything but the dance floor and Katy’s chants: “the pills, you take.”

#9 Thomas Gold – Sing 2 Me

‘Sing 2 Me’ has been floating since the late-summer/early-fall. It is one of several held back tracks from the Swedish House Mafia imprint labels. This one coming due out, eventually, on Axwell’s Axtone Records. Buzz circled around this song world-wide during Swedish House Mafia’s legendary takeover of Pete Tong’s Essential Selection broadcast back in September. Like many of the tracks you will see on this list. No release information is available yet.

#10 Laidback Luke feat. Wynter Gordon – Speak Up

Laidback Luke is infamous for his unreleased music. Look at his set lists and figure out how many songs are actually released (or even known.) ‘Speak Up’ is surely known. Perhaps his most anticipated release. Whenever that may be. He has been teasing this live for about a year now. The tandem of Luke and Wynter Gordon seem to be trying to rekindle the magic they made with the legendary ‘Dirty Talk‘ remix. Will ‘Speak Up’ reach that status? That shall remain unknown until its official release.
