Holy Ship !! : What You Need to Know

For most people, the days following New Years are amongst the toughest of the year. With holiday parties and time off work over, and the long days of winter ahead, it can be a tough time. But Gary Richards, also known as Destructo, and the HARD team have created an event like no other in electronic music to help you forget about your winter woes. In its second year, Holy Ship!! is a three-day boat cruise that sails through the Bahamas, with DJs on board and a private island tour to boot. This year features a star-studded lineup, with artists like Boys Noize, Diplo, and Justice, just to name a few. EO will be there covering all your nautical needs this weekend. Since it’s inaugural year, the Holy Ship team have considerably beefed up their artist offering. With label stages from Dirtybird, Earstorm, and Night Slugs, cruise “activities” such as DJ lessons from A-Trak or liquor mini-putt with Dillon Francis, there is sure to never be a dull moment aboard. Here are our picks for must-see acts:


Must-see: ??? (Special Guest)

Just a few hours into night one, a special guest will gracing the stage of the Sail Away show. With rumors swirling over the possible appearance of a listed DJ’s side project (for example, Armand Van Helden joining A-Trak for Duck Sauce or Skrillex climbing aboard to play with Boys Noize in Dog Blood), it’s the one not to miss on night one.

Honorable mention: 80s Prom Night Anthems hosted by Skream and Friends.

At 4:30 AM. To close out the Tight & Bright Theme Night. Is this real? Where else will you be able to see the dubstep don rock out Blondie as the sun rises?

Must-see: Boys Noize

Coming off an impressive debut of his live tour, Boys Noize surely have some tricks up his sleeve for this set. With an hour and a half on the Ghost Ship theme night, this one was designed for the skull king.

Must-see: Diplo

Take daytime sunshine, a private Carribean island, and Diplo’s eclectic tastes, and you have the ingredients for a beach party for the ages. Although we’re sure Diplo will be sweating it out in a full suit as per usual.

After taking over Pete Tong’s BBC1 Radio show over the holidays, the captain and skipper of the Dirtybird crew will keep partiers going with their bouncy brand of house on day 3. And you can be certain there’s no one in the room that will be having more fun than the two of them. Second honorable mention goes to the B2B that follows with Gesaffelstein and Brodinski.
