Throwback Thursday: Alice Deejay – Better Off Alone

By Tommy (@EO_Tommy) on January 5th 2012

Here’s a throwback that dates back long before EDM music saw any widely popularized publicity. Alice Deejay, which is in fact a group made up of multiple dutch producers (Pronti, Kalmani, DJ Jurgen and vocalist Judith Anna Pronk), produced one of the bigger dance tracks of 1999 with ‘Better Off Alone’.

The group’s album, Who Needs Guitars Anyway, was in my mind way ahead of its time. The group experienced a large level of success in the UK and western Europe but fell back into anonymity by 2003.

The beat had a level of resurgence when Wiz Kahlifa used a sample for his first big hit, ‘Say Yeah‘. I guess that’s cool? Anyway, hope I could provide you all with some nostalgia.
