John Dahlbäck – Comet
If his blonde hair, blue eyes, and snow-white Volvo** weren’t enough to convince you that he was Swedish, John Dahlbäck’s latest single, ‘Comet,’ should. Dahlbäck, who has been busy with his Mutant Records label (which houses artists like Albin Myers and Swanky Tunes), generally prefers a more minimalist Techno or Progressive House sound. ‘Comet’ takes this to the extreme, combining a heavy beat with a simple progressive theme that is only interrupted by one very Swedish voice reminding us to DANCE every 16 beats. It is hard-hitting, very mixable, and best played as loud as possible.
Dahlbäck will be in the US starting September 1, with stops in Florida, Texas, Vegas, and, of course, Pacha NY on September 14th.
