Ken Loi & OSKAR – The Wall (feat. Kat Cobra)

Released under his new label Starbright, Ken Loi has teamed up with OSKAR and Kat Cobra to bring us his new Progressive House single, ‘The Wall.’ The generic structure and 126 BPM pace leverage the track for easy transition and insertion while mixing, denoting that the track will appear in future radio mixes (cough, cough Tiesto’s Club Life podcast) and sets.

The opening minute of the ‘The Wall’ wastes no time in building the listener up in anticipation for a drop, but then proceeds into chords and male vocals that sounds very reminiscent of Swedish House Mafia’s hit ‘Don’t You Worry Child.’ Beginning at the 1:40 mark, Loi and OSKAR initiate a drop that is not too abrasive with a build up that isn’t too long. The slow progression and subdued aftermath compliment the song’s progressive undertones.

Approximately 3:00 into the track, Loi and OSKAR incorporate a brief rift that sounds vaguely similar to Black Eyed Peas’ infamous ‘Time of My Life.’ The track proceeds to build us two more times, mirroring the first half of the tune, before fading out.
