Cazzette “Avicii College Tour” Official Video

By (@MichelleKUPP) on January 20th 2012

Close our your Friday with another heart thumping video from the marketing geniuses over at AtNight Management. Today it’s a video recap of Cazzette’s journey with Avicii during the past few month’s college tour, which brought them all over the great ole U S of A. Watch them sweat through their shirts in Tampa (humidity, duh) and rock Chicago’s historic Congress Theatre. Avicii makes a few guest appearances as well. You gotta give props to Alex and Sebastian, the Cazzette boys, for wearing bow ties because, come on, how many people even know how to tie those bad boys. Enjoy!

Junior Jack – Thrill Me (Manuel De La Mare Booty Mash)

In preparation for his U.S. tour with Alex Kenji, tech icon Manuel De La Mare gives us a free download to dig into the dance floor with.

In the first two minutes, you’ll notice the signature Kenji snare that De La Mare added in ode to his tour buddy, from there you’ll get flashbacks of Dirty South’s ‘We Are.’ All in all, a fantastic melody for the weekend.

Unfortunatly, De La Mare will not be making it to NYC on his leg of the tour. Kenji will though, however. He’ll be at Santos Party House on Feb. 4.

whoisthegreatestwinner NEWS: MixMag Reveals the 20 Greatest Dance Acts of All Time!
Talk about a daunting task! MixMag is by far my favorite EDM publication, and I view it as a holy bible. The editors are brilliant, the content is exceptional, and the breadth and depth of information found throughout the magazine is overwhelming. Their list of the top 100 DJ’s of 2011 was tenfold better than DJ Mag’s, with names like Jamie Jones and Marco Carola in the top 10, rather than Avicii and David Guetta. So, without further ado, I present to you what the legends over at MixMag had to say about the greatest dance acts ever:

“The results are in! From September to December last year, you voted in your tens of thousands to decide who was the greatest dance act of all time. The poll was embraced by fans from Birmingham to Buenos Aires – acts campaigned fiercely, heated debate ensued and all of our expectations were exceeded by your response to the poll. And now the wait is over. Below is a list of your top twenty greatest dance acts of all time, including the all important winner.”

Live City – Connection Lost

By (@EO_JBrown) on January 19th 2012

 Live City Connection Lost
Going through blog demo emails is generally a monotonous and lengthy task which usually results in finding 1 or 2 solid tracks or bootlegs amongst hundreds of submissions. The beauty of running a blog is finding those 1 or 2 winners, and exposing these “diamonds in the rough” to the masses. Live City is a duo from NYC, and their genre is classified as Live House. The sound that they are hoping to cultivate is an interesting one: it reminds me a mix of The New Deal (which is an electronic jam band from Toronto) and Alesso. In other words, ‘Connection Lost’ has an improvisational feel, coupled with big room sounds and catchy melodies. Download the track  for free on the SoundCloud below by simply pressing the down arrow, and certainly keep an eye out for these guys.

db kids1 David Berrie Kids EP

Released shortly after New Year’s day, David Berrie‘s (NOT to be confused with dBerrie, his big-room alter ego) Kids EP has been jetting through the Beatport tech charts.

Last week, the entire three-track EP was in the top 15. Today, it is still, respectably, in the top 30.

The crown jewel of Kids, ‘Behind The Front,’ has garnered support from tech giant Marco Carola and broke the top 5 in Beatport’s tech charts. It currently sits at No. 8 and has many plays left in it.

If you are a mainstay in the tech community or are just passing along, the Kids EP is essential to pick up. For more of David Berrie’s tech stylings, check out his Soundcloud and like him on Facebook.

Dubstep dons Skream and Benga have slowly been announcing their ‘Skream and Benga Presents in the USA’ shows on their Facebook pages. If you’ve ever seen one of their shows, (and couldn’t get tickets to their sold out show with Skrillex in February,) you can understand why I’ve been tapping my feet looking back at their page every so often trying to find out where and when they’d be playing in NYC. This afternoon, Skream announced that they will be at Best Buy Theater on March 28th. One can expect nothing but an epic night from these two (along side the AMAZING sound system at Best Buy). Pegboard Nerds & Morten Breum – Ingen Anden Drøm

By (@cdelpercio_EO) on January 19th 2012

Pegboard Nerds & Morten Breum Ingen Anden Drøm

Danish producer Morten Breum and new Danish dubstep duo Pegboard Nerds have teamed up to create an incredible dubstep track entitled ‘Ingen Anden Drøm’. The track features an eclectic mix of dreamy Danish vocals from Anne Linnet’s 1986 hit of the same name, and modern dubstep wobbles. It will be really interesting to see what comes out of both Pegboard Nerds and Morten Breum in the coming future.

Morten Breum is starting out 2012 with a blast, having performed at both Pacha and LAVO earlier this month. In March, he will be amongst some of the world’s biggest producers at Miami Music Week/Winter Music Conference. His new single ‘Larva’ is set to be released early this year and is rumored to be the first out of 15 tracks to be released in 2012.
