Wolfgang Gartner1 PREVIEW: Wolfgang Gartner There and Back

Joey Youngman aka Wolfgang Gartner is back with a preview for his first release of 2012. Last year Wolfgang had one of the biggest years of his career with releases like ‘The Way It Was,’ ‘Illmerica‘ and one of my all-time favorites, ‘Space Junk.’ To kick off this year he provides us with a sample of his newest tune titled ‘There and Back.’ Here it sounds like he harnesses a bit of his electro fury and presents us with the brighter side of Wolfgang Gartner. Regardless, still sounds like it’s going to be a big time tune. Set to be released on Ultra Records this Tuesday, January 31st.

By (@MichelleKUPP) on January 27th 2012

Clearly Nicky Romero is super talented as far as production goes, and now it’s very clear why after watching him “play a few chords” on Freddy Mercury’s grand piano, as he just tweeted. We love love love Nicky here at EO, we’re dying for him to come back after his amazing show last weekend at Pacha. Here’s to wishing a speedy return! Enjoy the video of Nicky really showing his skills on the keys.

Hatiras & Nom De Strip – Roman Bromanski

Another collaboration from Hatiras and Nom De Strip available now; it’s ridiculous. Heavy kicks combine with everyones favorite Dutch bleeps providing ravers with a go-to dancefloor stomper. Unlike the Afrojack style production where the bleepy sounds sort ride solo, ‘Roman Bromanski’ combines those alien synths with pounds of percussion to add some additional flavor. Enjoy this one, support from Laidback Luke, Crookers, and more.

Grooves on grooves on grooves. Tommie Sunshine takes Northbrook’s ‘Move Your Body’ and transforms it into an ideal weapon for DJs. Great balance between beat and lyrics as you’ll travel between pulsing cowbell stabs and intoxicating hooks. All-around vibe makes you feel like you’re at an early AM warehouse rave; available now, make sure you don’t miss this one.

Proper British accent. ‘Oh, Tiesto with the lovely cross!’

It’s on.

Though the Euro Cup isn’t until June, Tiesto and Sebastian Ingrosso have organized a Holland vs. Sweden soccer match. The rosters are, comically, comprised of all DJ’s.

Tiesto issued the challenge via Twitter late Thursday night. Since then, a storm of Tweets have come from every direction by some of the world’s best DJ’s asking for playing time. From Nicky Romero (who said he is a 10-year vet) to Sunnery James (who we have a sneaky suspicion is a dynamic athlete,) everybody want to show off their footwork away from the dance floor.

The game will be played during Ultra Music Festival and if history has anything to say, Holland will be a heavy favorite, as their national team was the runners up in the 2010 World Cup, much to the delight of Armin Van Buuren.

The Swedish national team did beat Holland, 3-2, in their last meeting in Oct. 2011, though.

Rapid Spanish voice. ‘Ingrosso pasa por la defensa. Ninguna bandera de fuera de juego! Se dispara! Gooooooooooool!’

UPDATE: Kaskade is looking to get together a team USA for this match up. He and Steve Aoki are looking to show off the rising soccer culture in our country.

USA! USA! USA!

THROWBACK THURSDAY: Sgt Slick & Rob Pix feat. Bright White – Behind The Sun (Cristian Marchi Perfect Mix)

By (@JoeyJoeyJoeyy) on January 26th 2012

Throwback Thursdays1 THROWBACK THURSDAY: Sgt Slick & Rob Pix feat. Bright White Behind The Sun (Cristian Marchi Perfect Mix)

Nearly three years later, it’s still a banger.

Now, the names in this track may or may not look familiar. For those who need a lesson, Sgt. Slick and Rob Pix are two veteran DJ’s from the, now, exploding house scene of Australia. And Cristian Marchi has been a staple on the Italian DJ-circuit for years and specializes in pure house.

When this remix was made in 2009, you not only got the bleeps & bloops of what most people would now call dirty Dutch, even though it is more along the lines of Italian-house (Italia), we got a dancey house production that wasn’t open to the public.

We got an exclusive. You’d more or less have to be ‘in the know’ to have this one.

In 2012, die hard house music fans are still all about getting exclusives to stay ahead of the commercial music that trails the culture.

So, we’ve unearthed a classic for you. An exclusive classic.
