Bass Fueled Mischief has been bringing a plethora of amazing artists to NYC over the past few months and this week will be no different. This Thursday (May 17), BFM will be hosting an incredible lineup as per usual headlined by one of the greats of dubstep: Distance. Hailing from South London, Distance is one of the originators of the genre and has had an amazing and far reaching career so far. He also owns renowned record label Chestplate which has seen releases by a number of artists including Skream, Benga, Cyrus, Razor Rekta, and Tunnidge. Prepare to be blown away by one of the original badmen.
Also on the lineup are the amazing Cluekid (Bullfrog Beats/Disfigured Dubz), Hellfire Machina (Lifted Music/BFM), Bakir (Tuba/Dubs Alive), and Max Mischief (BFM). And of course, the night will be MC’d Posi-D. It’s all going down at Drom (21+) from 10pm-4am. In March we announced a contest calling all producers and aspiring superstars to submit their original tracks to us through Indaba. The contest went great, with 217 entries. We have to hand it to you basement DJs, most of the tracks were pretty solid, some obviously more so than others. We narrowed it down a few times, and ultimately decided on Double Dust as being our winner!
Congratulations Double Dust, may this be the break through as a successful career as a producer.

Double Dust submitted the track Land of the Sun, which is a colorful, extremely rhythmic house track. The track can definitely hold a candle to the top-notch European DJs dominating the landscape. The track is a little over 4 minutes, and ebbs and flows like the best of them. Stay tuned for the interview that will be coming soon!
This Memorial Day Weekend, the pool at Harrahs in Atlantic City will play host to a number of DJ’s, headlined by the mighty Nicky Romero. Nicky has been on fire in 2012 with his release on Guetta’s new label and also a massive single alongside Avicii. If you are going to be in Atlantic City, this is a must-attend event. Victor Calderone will also be playing his signature tribal house on the terrace. Buy tickets HERE, but hurry because they are about to sell out.
Nicky Romero has been tweeting a lot lately about his new record label and finally he has publicized the official preview of his first release – ‘WTF!?’ produced with ZROQ. Initially dropped by Nicky during his UMF performance in March, there has been a lot of hype around ‘WTF!?’ given that it will be his first Protocol Records single and just that it is generally a fun tune, characterized by the signature Nicky kickdrums and Dutch wobbles. Look for the full release May 28.
Today Anjunabeats released Mat Zo’s highly anticipated single, ‘The Sky’. We here at EO are big fans of the London born DJ and with ‘The Sky’ he gives us even more reason praise his skills.
‘The Sky’, which features Linnea Schossow, is Matt Zo’s first ever tune that features vocals and he definitely did it right! ‘The Sky’ has both a club and extended mix that are equally dope. The extended mix provides a more trance infused tune with an eloquent and slowly rising build that perfectly intermingles with Schossows vocals. The club mix has some signature big room progressive sounds that throttles with bass and surging synths. Both provide varying sound though each has it’s own pros that are auditory relative.
Zo’s popularity has him rising higher and higher into EDM stardom and he has answered his growing demand with a North American Tour. Unfortunately, the closest he gets to us here in NYC is Philly but if you do decide to go, he’ll definitely be worth the trip. Full tour dates after the jump!
For all you avid fans of dubstep and drum & bass, Sunday’s cosmicMEADOW lineup (brought to you by the one and only Bassrush) is your place to be. Prepare for a day of heavy-hitters and living legends.
This week, the Monday Mix was done by Farkas aka Joel Metz. The up-and-coming Swedish producer has been having a really great year. He’s had loads of support and plays by huge names such as Rusko, Skream, Benga, 16bit, The Others, L-Wiz, Dream, Walsh, N-Type, etc. His track ‘Tribal Dance‘ off his debut release ‘Meet the Farkas, Pt. 1‘ has become somewhat of an anthem of 2012, appearing in countless sets during over the past couple of months. With three other releases on the way (‘Meet the Farkas, Pt. 2‘ due out on Biscuit Factory Records, ‘Everything So Cold EP’ due out on All Out Dubstep, and ‘Creature/High Roller‘ with Laxx and Soap Dodgers also due out on Biscuit Factory Records), Farkas is sure to stay on top of the scene this year. Make sure to check out his Soundcloud for his latest original tracks, remixes, and mixes.

The kids want techno! A collaboration between two highly skilled producers has yielded a great production, so great that Moby has widely supported it. Produced by Bulgarian DJ Lion and Italian Luigi Rocca, ‘Repeat Repeat’ is a scud. This track features various characteristics of both techno and tech house. It is so jam packed with rhythm and has such a filthy bassline, it will make any purist go nuts. For all you techno lovers out there, be on the lookout for further releases from 303 Lovers. This label has a great track record for releasing top notch music.
Young bloods Julian Jordan and TV Noise have teamed up for yet another great Spinnin’ Records track. With so much young Dutch talent releasing records on the label, Spinnin’ has is a formidable entity in the world of house music. Jordan was recently named by legend Sander van Doorn as his favorite rising producer, and Jordan will be releasing his own remix of ‘Nothing Inside‘ June 4.
In addition, ‘Oxford’ has been racking up support from other producers, including a nod from Gareth Emery by way of his inclusion of the track in his latest weekly podcast and a spin from Pete Tong during his Essential Selection at the beginning of April.
This is a hard hitting electro house track in the Dutch tradition, and the young team does it well. It’s easy to see why SvD is such a firm supporter of Jordan. Only good things in store for these guys.

The whole JACKED team is on tour this summer and is led by none other than Sunday’s Kinetic Field headliner, Afrojack. Expect a wild ride that’ll include the dirtiest dutch music you’ll find at EDC.
Who You’ll See
Wanna know about all the other tents within their prospective days, see below:
Not sure where house heads stand on hip hop-vocals (or even dirty Dutch as a whole, for that matter,) but Ton!c is a fan-magnet right now. Coming out of California, his productions are more than worthy of a full listen (he made this happen. Wow.)
‘Get It On’ is more than just a fun summerish tune, it’s a Dutch bomb. If you’re fidgety, skip to the 1-minute mark and see what I mean (na’ sayin?)

We’re just over a week away from the Eric Prydz LP, ‘Pryda.’ The dance music world waits in anticipation as tracks slowly leak out. ‘SW4‘ was released to kick off the week. And the appropriate buzz has bubbled since the album sampler (‘Allein,’ which wasn’t featured, may be a nominee for track of the year.)
The album–which is actually three discs, features new, old and unreleased Prydz. Disc two and three tracks may look a tad familiar.
