This image is of one patron from this past weekend’s Electric Daisy Carnival in Flushing, NY. This image has been circulated with hateful comments such as “Don’t be this girl” and other insensitivities. I sadly had to witness this girl get carried past the entire front from of Circuit Grounds instead of discreetly around the back. Perhaps if instead of shaming her and snapping pictures on smartphones someone had actually helped her, this girl would be spared the disrespe ...Read More

Our Top Tracks from April are in! From Armin Van Buuren’s ASOT600 opening track ‘This Is What It Feels Like’, to Maor Levi and Pierce Fulton’s monster collab ‘Wanna Be’, you can say April was a big month. Perhaps the biggest news in EDM for quite some time was the release of Daft Punk’s newest track with Pharell, ‘Get Lucky’. Nothing gives us goosebumps more than hearing a new Daft Punk track. What others do you think should make our Top Tracks of April list?

The up and coming Dutch producer Wezz Devall grabs the beautiful vocals of Alana Aldea to create the melodic track ‘On The Rise’. DJing is such a hot profession that practitioners of the craft are now getting their chance to make it big via SMIRNOFF’s Master of The Mix show, which is well underway into its 3rd season and airs every Monday at midnight on VH1. A slew of DJs, including the Electronica Oasis supported DJ Brian Dawe, are having their 15 minutes of limelight and a real shot at spinning their way into the mainstream. EO has partnered with MOTM for the next six weeks to bring you fresh coverage of the competition in action, right as it goes down. By last night’s episode, judges Kid Capri, DJ Mia Moretti and Ben Maddahi had managed to narrow down the field to just nine top DJs vying for the coveted title of victor.
We saw Dawe totally nail the competition on the head last night, which was to design a set as an ‘Ode to Miami.’ His success in the 5th episodes means that he will be staying around for another round (and hopefully many more after that!) Dawe killed his song choices, utilizing a diverse and frenetic song selection that ranged from ‘Ice Ice Baby’ by everyone’s favorite rapper Vanilla Ice, to ‘Culo’ by Pitbull, the heavily Latin influenced ‘Danza Kuduro’ by reggaeton master Don Omar and ‘Take It to Da House’ by Trick Daddy. Despite having only a three minute set, Dawe
managed to get the whole crowd dancing, leaving them wanting more. Judge Ben Maddahi called it a ‘great overall set’ and when Dawe returned backstage, sought approval from fellow competitor Tina T. Do we smell a love match?? Dawe probably had a leg up capturing the Miami flavor as a native Floridian, but there is no disputing that he crushed the competition with his all encompassing set.
More about the Electronica Oasis supported DJ Brian Dawe after the jump and make sure to tune in every Monday at midnight on VH1! Read the rest of this entry »

Rising Australian producer Walden releases his newest EP ‘Machine Land’. Walden has gained an incredible amount of support after ‘Intropial’ off Big Beat Records, and he continues to gain momentum. The sound of ‘Machine Land’ is a little different then we were expecting, showcasing Walden’s talent. With darker beats and electro synths, he really took a different approach with ‘Machine Land’. ‘Only Invader’ and ‘Mono World’ also bring unique sounds that will be incorporated into radio shows across the world for the Summer. ‘Mono World’ reminds us a little of a Daft Punk type of track, giving goosebumps all around.
Walden stepped away from his progressive house style with this EP, but we like it. Electronica Oasis has been a supporter of Walden for a long time, and can’t wait for him to be playing main stages at music festivals. Keep it on killing it Walden.
Max Graham has release his newest track ‘Diamonds’. ‘Diamonds’ is a really nice trance track with some astounding, uplifting vocals from Tania Zygar. Featuring some feel-good chord progressions that we all love from trance, this track is sure to be successful. The euphoric build-ups only add to the songs already dynamic feel, leaving us with a song that stays true to the trance genre.
‘Diamonds’ is released under Armada Music. Armada is the powerhouse trance record label founded by Armin Van Buuren, Maykel Piron, and David Lewis. It is a Dutch record label based in Amsterdam that has been putting out hits ever since it was founded in 2003. Some other artists signed to Armada Music you might recognize are BT, Markus Schulz, tyDi, Myon & Shane 54, and Tritonal.
The ever impressive Above and Beyond never fails to create flawless concoctions of sounds that send chills of pleasure down their listeners’s spines. With their latest track, ‘Walter White’, there is no exception to the trio’s pattern of tasteful production.
Since its premier as an ID track at the final installment of Trance Around The World from Bangalore, India in November of 2012, the official drop of ‘Walter White’ has eagerly been awaited by A&B followers. Those of us who tune in to satellite radio to get our weekly A&B fill had the pleasure of first hearing “Walter White” on Above & Beyond’s radio show, Group Therapy; Episode #001. (Group Therapy is the successor to A&B’s former radio show, Trance Around The World). Interestingly, ‘Walter White’, which is off of Anjuna Beats Volume 10, was named in tribute to the TV character from the Breaking Bad series. Already a club hit, ‘Walter White’ comes roaring in with a tech-like rhythm. The melody then flows into long, deep bass lines that are almost hypnotic, before erupting again with piercing synths. The song emulates the captivating charisma A&B always brings to the table. Give the track that goes out to “Walter White aka Heisenberg” a listen and see if it can leave you spellbound.

Anthony Maniscalco, better known as Hook n Sling, is always good for a song that can make one feel jovial, as if they have encountered a transcendental experience simply by listening. You know? The Australian DJ/Producer’s latest track off of Spinnin Records, ‘Don’t you know’ does exactly that. A funky disco-esque beat kicks the track off, with delicate, cheerful vocals. Next, the song blasts into a dirty grinding electro-house sound. This is a roller coaster of styles that are strung together beautifully to make a perfect dance track.
The last six years have been a confirmation of Maniscalco’s skill as a producer and a DJ. He started out with his ARIA Awards Nomination in 2007 and grew to fame with chart topping hits, as well as bringing the house down at renowned clubs from all around the world. It is no wonder that he is currently highly demanded to display his abilities for his thousands of yearning fans.

Into The Light is the latest single coming from one of the most consistent electronic producers, Sander van Doorn, and this track is no exception. Collaborating on this song with Sander van Doorn are a pair of production duos, the Dutch based DubVision as well as Mako, who hail from Los Angeles. The progressive beats in Into The Light are awe-striking and strongly complemented by the alluring vocals from Mariana Bell, an Australian born singer/songwriter.
