Pixel Fist – Let Yourself Go/Shots & Straps (BengaBeats001)
Way back in February, Benga announced that his record label Benga Beats had called dibs on what have become some of the most coveted tracks in dubstep including Dream‘s ‘This Isn’t House‘, Taiki and NUlight‘s ‘Dirty Habit‘, and kutz‘s ‘Big ‘N’ Bad’. After what feels like an aeon of waiting (and an aeon of Benga teasing us more and more by featuring the tracks on his and Skream’s Radio 1 show), BengaBeats001 has finally been announced as Pixel Fist‘s heavy hitters ‘Let Yourself Go’ and ‘Shots & Straps’.
For those who aren’t familiar with Pixel Fist, they are a dubstep group with drum & bass background comprised of Audio, Mackie, Lorne, and Stapleton MC. Since 2009, they’ve had 20+ releases on labels such as Subhuman, Rottun Records, etc, and most recently released their Skatta EP (Cheap Thrills) and remix of Benga’s ‘I Will Never Change’ (Columbia).
The thing with tracks that have been signed to Benga Beats is this: everyone wants them… and they want them now. If you were to look at Pixel Fist’s FB page a couple weeks ago, you’d probably notice that on every single post, at least one person would comment ‘Let Yourself Go or GTFO’, ‘release Let Yourself Go already’, ‘you’re never going to release Let Yourself Go, are you?’ and so on and so forth. So, we’re pleased to tell you that ‘Let Yourself Go/Shots & Straps’ aka the first 2012 release off of the Benga Beats record label is due out NEXT MONTH.
