On Wednesday, November 6th, techno pioneer, Richie Hawtin, under the alias ‘Plastikman,’ will spin the alabaster cyclone of fine art into a techno frenzy as he DJs the Guggenheim International Gala (GIG) Pre-party. Also set to perform at the benefit is Matthew Hawtin- visual artist, DJ and brother of Richie. Hosted by the Guggenheim’s Young Collectors Council and sponsored by Dior, the GIG pre-party will raise funds on behalf of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation to help support its many initiatives surrounding modern and contemporary art. The pre-party preceeds the benefit dinner on Thursday, November 7th that will honor artists James Turrell and Christopher Wool, whose exhibit will be on display at the Guggenheim October 25, 2013 through January 22, 2014.
Tickets to the GIG pre-party will be available for purchase on October 7th at noon priced at $125 for General Admission and $500 for VIP. All tickets include a free open bar; moreover, VIP tickets include access to a private bar area and the opportunity to view Wool’s exhibit from 9-10p. We hope you join us for this unique evening of fine art and techno beats!
