Sander Van Doorn @ Pacha NYC 06.03.11 (Review, Videos)

Happy Sunday everyone still recovering from an epic weekend at Pacha NYC, with Sander on Friday and Fedde last night. After seeing Sander Van Doorn end UMF with a BANG and leaving Bicentennial Park with my eyeballs still flashing until the next day the only thing I thought to myself was…’When is the next time this guy is playing in New York because I have to see him!’ On Friday, June 3rd 2011, Sander left a dent in Pacha NYC, he completely killed it. His set was very versatile by dropping songs from ‘Prutata’ by Afrojack to ‘Spotfire’ by Jacob Van Hage and of course the wonderful trance that Sander Van Doorn is epically known for! His set was incredible from start to finish, he had the entire crowd bouncing and screaming lyrics to fantastic tracks, some like ‘Love is Darkness’ by Sander himself. On top of lyrics many classic leads were screamed too by fans, such as Ferry Corsten’s ‘Punk’ (Arty Rock N Rolla Mix). I was with the entire EO crew and we bounced around from the middle of the crowd to the front and every spot got better and better.

Some of the most memorable moments was when he dropped his mash up of ‘Penguin’ by Avicii vs ‘Lump’ by Jordy Lishious and let me tell you, (pardon my french but, holy shit, I lost my mind, I was not expecting this at all. Sander is so well known for surprising the crowd with his incredible ideas to reach the crowd and leaving them speechless. His remix of ‘Intro’ (XX Booty Mix) by Sander Van Doorn vs Green Velvet – ‘Flash’ (Nicky Romero Remix). I was in the very front for this and it was quite a memorable moment. He also dropped ‘Personal Jesus’ by Depache Mode (Eric Prydz) remix. The entire crowd singing along to ‘Personal Jesus’ was awesome. Sander Also dropped many of his own including ‘Koko’ which had an incredible reaction. He had his classic ending with his insane build fade out, (if you have ever seen a Sander show you will know exactly what I’m talking about).

Overall, his set was probably one of the best with one of the most intense light shows I have ever seen at that club. Hands down a great night and his set was so versatile from spacey trance with incredible visuals to some of the hardest hitting electro tracks I know. He played a variety of new tracks to classic tracks I used to listen to 8th grade which was nice to hear when I recognized when he played the new Fedde song, ‘Metrum’ and his bootleg Renegade vs. Kernkraft 400. He also took many great songs that were huge hits throughout the years and put his own spin on them as I previously described. When the set ended the sounds of the audience blaring “SANDER!! SANDER!! SANDER!!” was hoping for an encore song and of course he gave it to us. If I could give this night a rating it would be a 10/10 hands down. Kudos Sander, I cannot Wait till the next time we meet again. :)
