For most people, the days following New Years are amongst the toughest of the year. With holiday parties and time off work over, and the long days of winter ahead, it can be a tough time. But Gary Richards, also known as Destructo, and the HARD team have created an event like no other in electronic music to help you forget about your winter woes. In its second year, Holy Ship!! is a three-day boat cruise that sails through the Bahamas, with DJs on board and a private island tour to boot. This year features a star-studded lineup, with artists like Boys Noize, Diplo, and Justice, just to name a few. EO will be there covering all your nautical needs this weekend. Check out a full preview after the jump.
A-Trak is back in the Big Apple to once again break the mold, this time teaming up with the A$AP Mob and Pusha-T for V-Mix, a unique mash-up style performance at the Best Buy Theater this Thursday, November 29th. And thanks to Vibe Magazine, Electronica Oasis is giving you a chance to win a pair of tickets (which can also be purchased here). Jump on this one quickly – winner will be chosen Wed and notified via Twitter DM!
All you have to do is follow EO on Twitter and tweet:

Regardless of what style, tempo, or vocal samples A-Trak chooses to use in his variety of productions, the one common tie is irresistible danceability. Throughout the back half of 2012, the Fool’s Gold boss has been on a run of collaborations, working with everyone from dancehall vocalist Natalie Storm to moombah class clown Dillon Francis. On his latest release he pairs up with New York native Codes to pay homage to disco legend Cerrone on a remix of “Misunderstanding”. The end result is a funky yet soulful big-room disco track – a must add for any party selection.
Friday has it’s fair share of must see artists and the Fool’s Gold Clubhouse is home to some of it’s best acts. The label’s founders, A-Trak & Nick Catchdubs, will act as the tent’s “hosts” as they feature some of the label’s best talent along with some acts outside the Fool’s Gold label that definitely won’t disappoint. A-Trak is a pioneer in the electronic world and you can be sure he wants to ensure the label effectively represents itself as it takes over the Riverside tent.
In their continued quest to take over the world, Mad Decent has unleashed yet another fresh face upon the EDM world, this time in the form of Clockwork and his debut release ‘Titan’. The LA-born, NY-based producer has been garnering support from the likes of Felix Cartal, Laidback Luke and Steve Aoki, and most recently hooked up with A-Trak to churn out a delightfully glitchy and gritty remix to Zedd’s ‘Spectrum’.
‘Titan’ showcases Clockwork’s ability to juxtapose bouncy, high-pitched synths with grimy, hard-hitting basslines to produce the perfect big room electro banger (think Hardwell goes to the circus).
Thank you A-Trak for pointing the world towards Kim Kamillion’s trap house edit of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs – Heads Will Roll. Any good house fan knows that the masterful A-Trak remixed the track back in the day and it still stands as one of the best remixes of an indie rock song, like, ever. A-Trak has also revealed that the remix was almost dead, but in a stoke of luck was revived and brought to the world’s eyes.

Kid Kamillion’s trap house version is pretty dope as well, and as we’ve noticed that trap house has become a greater force in the dance music world. Crank this up and get dirty for your weekend dance party in a jiffy.

A new producer dream team has been created with a collaboration from two of the biggest party electro producers, A-Trak and Dillon Francis. The new single features some of the bounciest synths perfectly prepped for the summer, with enough swag that we wouldn’t be surprised to see remakes from rappers and DJs alike.
Check out the video below from prankster Dillon Francis putting on his best A-Trak impersonation, complete with Burberry scarf, Sharpie beard and colored money from north of the border.
Earlier this year, we announced that Bassnectar aka Lorin Ashton would be going on tour to promote his newest album ‘VAVA VOOM’. Sadly, he won’t be making a stop in NYC until the New York edition of Electric Daisy Carnival May 18-20 BUT if you’re a hardcore basschaser (or even only a recent fan), you’re definitely going to want to check out his Bass Center V at the Liacouras Center in Philadelphia, PA tomorrow evening. Bass Center V boasts a pretty ridiculous lineup spanning over EIGHT HOURS including A-Trak, VibeSquaD, Mr. Projectile, and of course the king of bass himself. If you haven’t already, you can grab tickets HERE… and if you’re still having doubts, check out this teaser they just put out!
This indie hit flew under the radar in its original form, but the massive remix package that hit the scene yesterday officially has brought it to new levels. A favorite in Miami, Martin Solveig – The Night Out is catchy and quickly melts into your very psyche, in an extremely pleasant fashion. A release on NY label Big Beat Records, this might just be the summer indie sing-along you’ve been looking for.
Alongside remixes from Madeon and A-Trak, electro house producer TheFatRat is enjoying great success with his version, which currently ranks in the top 10 on Hype Machine, heart it HERE. If you like it tweet your heart out with “Listen to @msolveig – The Night Out (TheFatRat Remix) on @hypem http://awe.sm/5j473” to add points to TheFatRat’s cred on the music aggregating site.
