Avicii – Levels (@@ Remix)

levels Avicii Levels (@@ Remix)

Earlier this week, we said that ‘Levels’ won’t die. By that, we meant it is absolutely dead. Here’s the proof.

The one time juggernaut has clearly fallen on hard times. It seems to have become a novelty and sort of inside joke in the dance music world. If it had an ‘E! True Hollywood Story’, this would be the 30-minute mark where shit hits the fan.

Can’t blame @@ (that’s AT-AT) for cashing in. He’s clearly in on the gag. Hopefully this can lead to a following for the truer productions (or maybe more LOL-productions, who knows.)

Though it has been on Soundcloud for a little over two weeks, @@’s mix has gained notoriety over the last 24 hours. Sound your horns and have a listen (and a laugh.)

NEWS: Avicii LE7ELS Tour Cancellations / Rescheduling

Avicii NEWS: Avicii LE7ELS Tour Cancellations / Rescheduling

AVICII’s LE7ELS Tour start date has been pushed back in order to accommodate changes in the shows production, and these production changes won’t be ready in time for the following shows which have been cancelled:

Cancelled
Reliant Arena in Houston May 17
Fort Worth Convention Center Arena May 18
Uno Lakefront in New Orleans May 20
Gwinnett Center in Duluth June 6

According to Mark Ward of AVICII’s production team “The production is a re-invention of modern technology in an unexplored area of application seeing the 3d mapping is done on an organic surface and mixed in real time. In its complexity we discovered some technical issues at Coachella that could compromise the quality of the experience for the fans which is why we are recommending we move the tour starting date up to a month later.”

Ash Pournouri, At Night Managment, says, “We can not risk anything but a top notch experience for fans and will move the tour start to June 7, pending venue availabilities” The following shows have been rescheduled:

The Sprint Center in Kansas City May 24 is now Sept. 16 at The Midland by AMC
Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis May 24 is now Sept. 15
Target Center in Minneaplois May 26 is now Sept. 7 at the Minneapolis Convention Center
MTS Centre in Winnipeg May 26 is now Sept. 6

Several dates will also be replaced by headliner slots at upcoming festivals which will be
announced in the weeks ahead.

Refunds are available at the point of purchase.

Avicii – Levels (Henrik B Remix)

No matter what happens. ‘Levels.’ Won’t. Die.

That’s why it was No. 1 in 2011.

Henrik B’s version has been a tool of his for a few months now, mind you. He’d have to be late to the party to just be remixing this now.

With the success of the lovely ‘Leave A Light On‘ it looks like Henrik B decided to continue his assent into our ears. And, just wait, he still is holding onto this (NSFW.)

Look out for him in the second half of 2012.

Avicii’s New Stage Design Comes To North America

By Joey Joey Joey (@JoeyJoeyJoeyy) on April 25th 2012

Fact: You’re not a top-tier DJ until you get your own elaborate stage design.

Not that Avicii’s Le7els tour needed a boost, but the marketing geniuses that have turned Avicii into an international dance music phenomenon have given him his own elaborate stage design (a la Deadmau5.) First seen at Coachella last week, Avicii DJ’s high above the crowd on a molding of a face (Andross from Star Fox, anybody?) Check out these pictures courtesy of Rukes for more.

Hard to argue, the set up and the light show is stellar work. The crowd tends to agree at .08. It’s unknown if he’ll be bringing along this to EDC in a few weeks, but that face in the north end zone at Met Life Stadium would be epic.

Tickets (Buy Here) and tour dates after the jump. Outside of EDC, Avicii is not scheduled to make an appearance in the Tri-State area.

Throwback Thursday: Phonat – Set Me Free (Avicii Remix)

Throwback Thursdays1 Throwback Thursday: Phonat Set Me Free (Avicii Remix)

Yes, Avicii did produce tracks before ‘Bromance’ and ‘Levels’. This track is, for lack of a better word, MASSIVE. It is safe to say that this is Avicii at his best, and he produced it over 3 years ago. Perfect vocals and a massive synth riff make the track an absolute classic. Also, the first drop is extremely cool and comes out of nowhere (30 seconds in). Enjoy this golden oldie.

NEWS: Avicii Teams Up With Ralph Lauren For Denim Line

By J-Brown (@EO_JBrown) on April 11th 2012

avicii1 NEWS: Avicii Teams Up With Ralph Lauren For Denim Line
Avicii is a money making machine. As if it wasn’t enough that he will be headlining Coachella this coming weekend, he is currently in NYC working on a summer campaign for Ralph Lauren Denim & Supply (a line in which he is now the new face of). In addition to helping design the line, he will also be starring in a video short and debuting a new track in the process. It appears as though his meteoric rise to the top of the EDM pyramid has made his manager and executive producer Ash Pournouri even more relentless. These guys will stop at nothing, and the brand they have created is immensely impressive and extremely profitable.

REVIEW: Swanky Tunes @ Pacha 3/31

By MichelleKUPP (@MichelleKUPP) on April 3rd 2012

Final Photo REVIEW: Swanky Tunes @ Pacha 3/31
Oh what a night to be a dance music fan in NYC. Saturday, March 31 was just one of those days that makes you thank your lucky stars that you live in (or near) the Big Apple. Following a stop at Terminal 5 for Anamoly with looks from Pierce Fulton, Felguk, Martin Solveig and Laidback Luke it was time to head for the real part at Pacha for a late night set from the stars of the Russian house mafia, Swanky Tunes. Although Stas, Vadim & Dima have been on the international front for a veterans length of time, their exposure stateside is rather recent, and we are thankful to have them.

Named a ‘Mutant Monster‘ by John Dahlbäck in his weekly podcast, Swanky Tunes’s most recent release ‘Apogee‘ dropped yesterday to critical acclaim. They have a new collaboration with Tiësto feat. Ben McInerney entitled ‘Make Some Noise‘ which will be released as a part of Tiësto’s ‘Club Life Miami‘ album April 24. In short, their pipeline is full and they are delivering the goods on a consistent basis. Swanky Tunes’s return to NYC, following sets at Pier 94 and Pacha on New Years Eve, was no different. Playing from 4:30-7 AM, those in attendance were enthralled as if it were a 2 am set. Click through for the full deets and video! (more…)
