While many of the tracks played so far on Swedish House Mafia‘s One Last Tour are familiar to dance music veterans, there have been a few clever edits and IDs along the way that have peaked our interest, one of which revealed as Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike‘s “Wakanda”. Now with a release on Axwell‘s Axtone Records, this track from the Tomorrowland-famous duo combines playful tribal loops with hard-nosed progressive synths.

PREVIEW: Aston Shuffle vs. Tommy Trash – Sunrise (Won’t Get Lost)

By Scammer (@scammertime) on October 5th 2012

Finally an official preview from a track that’s been floating around in live sets for over a month now. After hearing it in the Electric Zoo sets of both Tommy Trash and Axwell weeks ago, it looks like another monster hit for Axtone Records.

Originally dubbed as Tommy Trash’s remix of “Won’t Get Lost” by fellow countrymen The Aston Shuffle, “Sunrise”, although sounding similar to Trash’s earlier remix “Ladi Dadi”, has some nice big-room synths we’ve come to love from the Aussie.

No word on release date yet.

DJ SET: Axwell @ Electric Zoo Festival 2012

Axwell DJ SET: Axwell @ Electric Zoo Festival 2012

Axwell is arguably the best producer of the Swedish House Mafia crew and certainly the most experienced. He showed off his DJing chops on the second night of Electric Zoo as the headline act on the main stage. Starting off deep and heavy with an ID track we are dying for in real life, he then moved on to the more familiar ‘Greyhound’ and thus off into the progressive from there.

Hard Rock Sofa & Swanky Tunes – Here We Go

By MichelleKUPP (@MichelleKUPP) on July 9th 2012

Here We Go Hard Rock Sofa & Swanky Tunes Here We Go

From Russia with love, by way of London, comes today’s monster release from Hard Rock Sofa and Swanky Tunes, ‘Here We Go’ out on Axwell’s imprint Axtone. ‘Here We Go’ marks Swanky Tunes’s first release on Axtone, a fact that the trio is quite happy about and has been in the making.

Both Swanky Tunes and Hard Rock Sofa are making a big splash stateside, with huge tracks coming out on the regular from each party respectively and collaboratively (see ‘Apogee,’ ‘The Edge‘ & ‘Just Can’t Stay Away‘) ‘Here We Go’ boasts an acid influenced bass-line, reminiscent of the big beats sourced by vintage synthesizers with liquid overtones. Think Nicky Romero’s Generation 303 for reference. The track has been getting great play from a slew of DJs, so don’t hesitate to add it to your own rotation.

Picture 4 NEWS: Swedish House Mafia Calls It Quits

That’s all folks! The curtain will soon close on the prolific trio known as Swedish House Mafia. Today Axwell, Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso took to the web to announce via their website that their current tour will be their last. Currently the last announced date is at the Friends Arena in Sweden November 24, but the site also promises an imminent news in August regarding additional parts of the tour.

Are we certain that the end is final? Perhaps not, but likely the individual members wanted to focus on their various individual projects, ranging from culturing young talent to leading successful labels. In the meantime cherish the memories that the Swedes have brought to the dance music world and perhaps take a peek at their documentary from Miami circa 2010.

Carlsberg 2012 – The Movie Feat. Axwell

By MichelleKUPP (@MichelleKUPP) on May 2nd 2012

Looks like superstar Axwell has teamed up with with yet another brand, Carlsberg, to sponsor two underground shows in Sweden this summer. The brand claims to be working to refresh and re-define the Swedish party scene and working with Axwell to create a video game style promo video looks to be another step in the process.

Via the Facebook app, visitors will be given greater clues as to the locations of these super secret shows as time goes on. Summer is always a great time to capitalize upon alcohol brands and their events, as they traditionally have sponsored some pretty sweet shows, often with open bars.

Ostensibly the track in the video, which is yet to be named publicly, is a new Axwell track that will be released as a part of the promo. Those stateside, get involved and show your interest and perhaps we can hope to see some Carlsberg and Axwell love on this side of the pond.

More info is available on the Carlsberg Facebook page here.

Miike Snow – The Wave (Thomas Gold Remix)

By MichelleKUPP (@MichelleKUPP) on April 28th 2012

Miike Snow The Wave (Thomas Gold Remix)

Production team Miike Snow has been creating quite the stir in the dance music world with his new album. However even more compelling for EDM fans are the remixes coming from some of the industry’s favorite names. Thomas Gold’s remix of ‘The Wave,’ dropped last night by Pete Tong during his Essential Selection, is a prime example.

Featured by Sebastian Ingrosso during the third edition of his Refune Radio podcast, if you’ve seen Ingrosso in recent weeks ‘The Wave’ has been an integral part of his sets. Gold is hyper talented and a doll to boot – check out the EO exclusive interview with the German bred producer – and most recently made a stunning appearance in NYC during the first act of Cosmic Opera.

No release date yet, but expect it out soon on Axwell’s label Axtone Records.
