Gabriel DJ SET: Gabriel & Dresden @ Electric Zoo Festival 2012

Veterans Gabriel & Dresden were members of the Group Therapy stage Friday at Electric Zoo and their set ran the gamut of old and new. Starting off with a mash-up of one of the undeniable songs of the summer and EZF, ‘Allein, Allein’ and ending with their classic ‘Tracking Treasure Down,’ Dave & Josh kept it real. Their sets are always amongst the most fun and uplifting of any festival.

florida map The Ultimate (Non Ultra) Miami Music Week Guide

Welcome to the only guide that you will need for your upcoming visit to Miami. Perhaps there is great Cuban food somewhere in the city, and tourists will definitely swim with the dolphins, but what you are there for is electronic dance music. After weeks of monitoring and carefully tracking the (what seems like) millions of parties happening before, during and after Ultra, the EO staff came together to gather the best and the brightest choices. EO is a diverse crew, made up of techno purists, trance enthusiasts and big room progressive followers and this guide reflects those many musical genres.

Where will we be? Everywhere it seems. In the booth with Markus Schulz? Check! Closing down the club with dBerrie? Definitely! Interviewing Hard Rock Sofa and Tom Tyger? You betcha! Try and keep track of the team via Twitter (@electronicoasis) and give us a holler if you’re in Miami! See ya there!!

EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: Gabriel & Dresden

By MichelleKUPP (@MichelleKUPP) on March 15th 2012

The world shed several tears when legendary production team Gabriel & Dresden parted ways in 2008. Their joyful re-unification in 2010 meant that the electronic community was that much richer, as these genre-bending maestros got back to work. At the end of February Josh and Dave proffered up their first track in 6 years, the dubstep influenced ‘No Reservations‘ created in conjunction with DC based Secret Panda Society, evidence that the team is not willing to float by on their reputation but are rather committed to sending out new hits to their loyal fans.

A great deal of their committed followers made their way to Pacha at the beginning of March to experience the triumphant return of Gabriel & Dresden. A modest way to describe the evening would be to say that the set did not disappoint. In reality, Josh and Dave completely annihilated those in attendance, playing a full three hour set, which is a rarity in this day and age of packed line-ups and easily distracted crowds. If you haven’t been able to see the guys in action, make it a priority. They will be in Miami for WMC next week, along with a stop at Ruby Skye in San Francisco on St. Patrick’s Day. Keep track of all their tour dates on their Facebook. Don’t miss out.

Gabriel & Dresden reside in the upper echelons of North American electronic artists, coming from the early years of the genres development outside of Europe. Recently re-united, California based Josh Gabriel & Dave Dresden are now back and better than ever, producing and touring for their loyal fans, with the guys stopping in NYC March 3 at Pacha.

Today ‘No Reservations,’ Gabriel & Dresden’s first foray into production in the past four years, was released on Organized Nature/Armada for the duo’s many supporters. The track is a thumping dupstep influenced bass masterpiece, thanks to the collaboration with dubsteppers Secret Panda Society. It is overall exciting news that Gabriel & Dresden are back on the grid, and this track is no exception from their vein of brilliance.

Adrian Lux Fire PREVIEW: Adrian Lux Feat. Lune Fire

Just about a year ago, we posted a live preview of Adrian Lux Feat. Lune – Fire. Now finally after more than 365 days of waiting, Lux posted a preview of the track to his Soundcloud with a real world release date of Feb. 7 on Ultra Records. Lux’s special brand of Indie Electro may just be the future of dance music as the genre transitions to become more main stream. The gentle vocals he employs on many of his tracks are easily digestible for those who are EDM aficionados and newbies alike. We spent some time with Lux back in December at Pacha and he has big things in store. If you’re anywhere near Vegas, get yourself to Marquee this Friday for a special performance of Lux and Gabriel & Dresen. Couldn’t think of a better Super Bowl weekend treat…

UPDATE: We just got word that Lux will release a radio edit, extended and instrumental version of Fire Feb. 7, then a remix package Feb. 21 featuring edits by R3hab, Jeremy Olander, Style of Eye and
the Mikael Weermets “Fire In The Hole” remix!

Now you can have the chance to see them up close and in person in March. G&D go hard, just take a listen to one of their live sets and you will instantly realize that this is a show that is not to be missed.
