Jack Beats are back with yet another track preview, this time with the minimal bass track “Just A Beat“. After releasing the first half of their album “Careless” back in September with a slew of original productions as well as collaborations with Dillon Francis, Diplo, and Example, part two is shaping up nicely for release, available December 9. If you can’t wait that long, be sure to check out their Progressions Mix for a sneak peak of more fresh Jack Beats music.
The first hint of part two of their full-length album has popped up on Jack Beats‘ Soundcloud page, with a single entitled “Somebody To Love”. Following the 9-track mini-album “Careless“, this new single features British songstress Jess Mills, with the soulful undertones much like that of a Katy B, providing a nice complement to the swinging electro bass of the Jack Beats core sound.
Part two of the full-length album with this and four more new Jack Beats tracks will be released December 2 on OWSLA.
Friday has it’s fair share of must see artists and the Fool’s Gold Clubhouse is home to some of it’s best acts. The label’s founders, A-Trak & Nick Catchdubs, will act as the tent’s “hosts” as they feature some of the label’s best talent along with some acts outside the Fool’s Gold label that definitely won’t disappoint. A-Trak is a pioneer in the electronic world and you can be sure he wants to ensure the label effectively represents itself as it takes over the Riverside tent.
Jack Beats is back in a big way with Evolution, a mixtape featuring Jack Beats recent releases, tracks and collabs from their upcoming album, and new tracks that have lately peaked their interest. The 31-minute compilation is a fantastic preview to the progression of the Jack Beats sound – while there might be more swooning vocals, the same clean, heavy basslines remain.
Even without a tracklist the collaborations are easy to pick out – influences from Dillon Francis and Example especially stick out. A ton of new original tracks are featured throughout the mix as well as ones we’ve seen pop up in the past few months, such as ‘End of Love’ and ‘Deeper’, remixes of Flux Pavilion’s ‘Daydreamer’ and Beyonce’s ‘Countdown’, with Justin Martin’s ‘Ruff Stuff’ rounding out the identifiable tracklist.
Jack Beats will be coming out with a new live show in the fall but before that look our for a two-part album release. The first will come on August 7th and is called ‘Careless’, released on OWSLA.

The HARD team is really taking it’s summer fest to the next level. Last year, more than 30,000 fans attended the Los Angeles event, which featured Skrillex, Chromeo, Duck Sauce and Boys Noize amonst others. But this year, following the success of the first Holy Ship!, HARD will be a two day festival experience. The event will again be held in the Los Angeles State Historic Park, but now with an expanded four stages and more than 60 artists. $99 two-day passes go on sale Saturday at Hardfest.com. If you can’t make it to LA, HARD is featuring Jack Beats, Knife Party, Kill The Noise, 16 bit and JWLS March 24 in NYC at Terminal 5.

What to do, what to do! It’s Wednesday here at Electronica Oasis (and most of the world,) so that means it’s Weekend Beat time. Here’s your clubbers guide for the NYC-area this week.
Where We’ll Be
Stellar line up to say the least. Thursday we will be at Cielo for Victor Calderone and, also, Hyperbits set at Veranda. Friday we will take in the super-show at Pacha NYC. Who knows, there could be a Rihanna sighting! In all seriousness, we look forward to seeing Vermont’s own Pierce Fulton steal the show from the Nicky Romero-Calvin Harris juggernaut combo. We will have a representative at Webster Hall Friday too. A-Trak has called Gesaffelstein one of his favorite up-and-coming producers. Saturday we will be in attendance for Lazy Rich. It’s a rarity and a treat to see him spin live, so we suggest you take full advantage of the opportunity.
Recently Announced Shows Arty was rescheduled to Feb. 3 at Pacha NYC. No passport delays should hold up American trance duo Gabriel & Dresden on March 2.
In my opinion, Sunday might be the best day for Electric Zoo this year and Fake Blood is one of the reasons why. Fake Blood at 5:35pm kicks off an amazing list of DJ’s at the Hilltop Arena (where I’ll probably be all day) that includes: Jack Beats, Diplo, & my personal favorite, Boys Noize. The beauty of this particular spotlight is not only to highlight the amazing-ness of Fake Blood but to also share a sample of Fake Blood’s new EP, Deep Red. Hopefully, he will take full advantage of his set time and showcase all three of these new tracks. Either way, the EP will be released September 12th. Be sure to check out the track below and get pumped for some Fake Blood.
I would have given my right arm and left leg to have been at Hard Haunted Mansion this past weekend in L.A. This video showcases some of the unbelievable talent that was present. I have heard from various sources that A-Trak, Boys Noize, and Busy P among others brought the electro fire, and what better place is there than this event to drop some hard, maximalist NOISE. The show itself must have been absolutely epic. So epic in fact that Boys Noize, Jack Beats, and Brodinski spun a monster set at some crazy afterparty, with electro kingpin Bart B More just chillin in the DJ booth.. What savages. I need to move to the West Coast!
With Jack Beats coming to Webster Hall next weekend in NYC, I decided to drop recently released track by them. I have liked these guys since they released ‘Get Down’ on Herve’s Cheap Thrills label. I liked them even more when they remixed Big Boi’s ‘Shutterbug’, which received support from the likes of Busy P, Diplo, and the Bloody Beetroots. And after hearing this track, I am now completely infatuated and cannot wait to see them open for Crookers next weekend. Wobbly synth lines, a dope vocal sample, and perfect electro builds…this is the kind of track you listen to right before you go out and rage on a Saturday night.
