Nicky Romero’s ‘Toulouse,’ the whomp-whomp-wawa-whomp-whomp song of a lifetime, looks to be heading toward a full remix package.
Uploaded Sunday evening by Romero, Tommy Trash’s remix might be the next face melter to hit clubs this spring. Rivaling the original, this strike gives an alternative electro re-work to the Romero classic.

The Miami music season has officially opened with the release of Britain-based Cr2 Records Miami Mix 2012, a two CD ‘Back2Back’ compilation mixed by MYNC and Nicky Romero. Look for these two amazing artists to also be involved in Cr2′s Miami party line-up, details of which should be announced shortly.
The ‘Back2Back’ mix itself features an eclectic roster of artists and tracks, including a few tried and true EO favorites. MYNC makes use of the of the bubbly and fun Pierce Fulton – Who Wants Spaghetti, which was recently released by the young Vermonter on Cr2. Nicky took a step in the right direction and put his ‘Toulouse‘ masterpiece in the mix – there is no DJ that does not utilize this track, which was released in December, in their sets. As an anchor Nicky put in another banger, R3hab & Swanky Tunes feat. Max C – Sending My Love (Afrojack Edit). To top it off, Albin Myers’ ‘Hell’s Bells,’ which was released today, exclusively through Cr2, makes for the perfect under-the-radar track to gear up for Miami.
Pick up your own copy of this almost absurdly compelling compilation – if you weren’t already on the edge of your seat with anticipation about Miami this year, you will be now. So get grooving and check out the full tracklisting after the jump!

Oh hey David Guetta, haven’t seen you since the Grammys! Now he and pal Nicky Romero are back with a V-Day gift that will make you feel a little frisky. Released on Big Beat Records, which is having an epic few days with three Skrillex Grammys and a #1 hit for Flo Rida – Good Feeling, Wild Ones features vocals from Guetta’s collaborator on ‘Titanium,’ Sia. She is also featured on the Flo Rida – Wild Ones pop version of the song, but for electronic fans ‘Wild Ones Two’ is miles ahead of the saccharine nature of the original release.

Is this the next ‘Hey Ricky?’ track? Perhaps it is if you ‘L-U-V MADONNA.’ Nicky Romero has been tweeting about his commission for a remix of a Madonna hit and everyone heard it debuted during the Madonna/M.I.A./Nicky Minaj Super Bowl half time performance. Being the benevolent fellow that he is, Mr. Romero posted a tiny teaser of his edit just a few moments ago. Unfortunately no release date from Universal, but EO will keep you in the loop!

Any sort of official announcement about this track has been long coming. EO asked Nicky Romero about his previously dubbed ‘Fuck School’ collaboration with Avicii, which has now been pretty much 100% IDed as ‘Nicktim’ by Nicky himself via Twitter. His vague answer suggested that more work needed to going into mastering and finding a label home for the track, but now tastemaker Pete Tong finally announced the world premiere of the song yesterday during his Friday BBC1 radio show. This track has a lot of hype surrounding it and rightfully so. First played by Avicii during his set at the DC Armory in November, it has become a staple of both his and Nicky Romero’s sets. Others including the great and mighty David Guetta also incorporate the masterpiece into live plays. It might just be the ‘Levels’ of 2012. Release date still to come so watch here for updated info.

Generation 303 is one of those tracks that have been waited on for quite awhile. EO has been keeping you updated on the various developments surrounding Nicky Romero’s acid-banging masterpiece and now the day has finally come. This is Nicky’s first release on fellow Dutchman Tiësto’s label Musical Freedom. This is going to be Nicky’s year, having been named #1 on the list of Most Anticipated Artists of 2012. In fact, a brand new remix that he completed for Madonna was played during her half-time Super Bowl performance Sunday. Between that and Avicii’s cameo for Bud Light, it is now conclusive that this is the era of beats.
Generation 303 takes the numerical part of its title from the Roland TB-303, an 80s era bass synthesizer that was the sound of acid and techno house. Generation 303 embodies the typical qualities of an acid house track, utilizing a repetitive almost trance like beat to bring the listener a sense of hypnosis, in addition to featuring short snippets of vocals. Nicky’s rendition of the genre is just terribly successful. It’s being played in regular rotation by any number of DJs, including Nicky, and should definitely be added to your daily listening routine.
