In honor of Swanky Tunes’s triumphant return to NYC following the much lauded Avicii led New Year’s Eve Pier 94 event in which they participated, EO is presenting its readers with a video interview conducted just prior to the largest NYE event of 2012. The Russian production trio’s year got off to a bang as they made their NYC sophomore appearance, following an intimate set at Provocateur during their inagural trip to the city in October. Since then they have embarked on a US tour, which brings them back to Provocateur tonight for what promises to be a deeply engaging experience.
Following up on the NSFW Antidote video (filmed in our own NYC Provocateur) is the Tommy Trash Remix to Swedish House Mafia’s newest anthem. We love what Tommy has done with the track, adding his signature electro loops and instrumentals to a song that was maybe a bit sleepy in its original form. You won’t be able to keep yourself from moving to this version. Also check out where we name Tommy in our most Anticipated Artists of 2012, going to be a big year for him! Enjoy!
Swedish House Mafia – Antidote (Tommy Trash Remix)
Epic weekend just wrapped up for us. We invaded the booth at Pacha NYC and rubbed elbows with Fedde Le Grand, Deniz Koyu and David Guetta. Be sure to read our recap of the madness. This week, we have a lot of techno and, apparently, some DJ’s from Sweden are spinning around 34th street. Go.
Where We’ll Be
Firstly, tonight, Nero will be wobbling at Webster Hall for its album release party. We’re currently giving away tickets for the show. More info here. Good luck! Friday we will be at Madison Square Garden for the iconic Swedish House Mafia show. A lot of us over at EO are intrigued by the Jacques Lu Cont under card. We will mozzy on over to the Roseland Ballroom afterward for the after party. Guest include AN21 & Max Vangeli, Carl Kennedy, Lu Cont and possibly more. It goes to 8 a.m., so we will hibernate for 10 hours then head off to Seth Troxler at Good Units. Some of the EO family will be attending David Dann‘s NYC debut at Santos Party House and Chris Liebing at Highline Ballroom too, this weekend.
Recently Announced Shows
According to Nervo’s Facebook page they will be making their debut at Glo March 16, 2012.
David Berrie will be main floor at Pacha NYC on Christmas Eve.
What is the deal with Pacha NYC’s 6-year anniversary final day announcement? For weeks they’ve been saying ‘just a little longer and we’ll announce it!’ Seems like bookings couldn’t get finalized and they’ve been scrambling since. With all the hype on the last day announcment it seems like they’ve set themselves up for failure or, at least, backlash. They probably should’ve just built everything around the Hardwell, Martin Solveig, Adrian Lux, R3hab & Quintino show. Now, unless it’s Eric Prydz or another super-show, people will not be satisfied with anyone they announce. Good chance Swedish House Mafia will hijack the decks this Friday after Madison Square Garden but before Roseland. Current rumors have Afroack, Deadmau5 or Avicii as being the DJ for the final announcement. We’ll continue to wait and see.
An epic weekend has came and went. EO took over Pacha NYC this past Saturday and kicked it with Adrian Lux, read our full event review for a closer look at the madness. How good have the weekday shows in the NYC-area been lately? They’re rivaling the Friday/Saturday shows. The lovely Nervo sisters played a nice Tuesday show, last night, at Provocateur and, across town, Cielo hosted Junior Sanchez & Gina Turner. Let’s take a look at this week’s fun.
Where We’ll Be
Arguably, the show of the weekend will be Fedde Le Grand and Deniz Koyu, Friday at Pacha NYC. We will certainty be in attendance. Le Grand is world renowned for his live DJ skills and Koyu is making his Pacha NYC debut after a huge 2011 campaign. There will be many moments on Friday. Surely. Some honarable mention shows that we will try to get to include Yelle & Morgan Page. Yelle has been remixed by many underground French producers and, currently, has this single she is boasting. Page, Saturday at Webster Hall, is nothing to scoff at either. He has had a gigantic year with his ‘In The Air‘ single and it’s remixes and now this track with Tegan & Sara.
Recently Announced Shows Wolf+Lamb will be at Le Bain on Dec. 16.
The fall line up has been insanity. Since the summer ended, the fall shows have picked up considerably in the NYC-area. Going forward, the winter could potentially be even crazier. So much to look forward too. But, lets focus on this week.

Where We’ll Be
If you’re a house music lover and you have not seen Dirty South live, then there is a strong chance you’re not a house music lover. We will most definitely be in attendance, Friday, for his set at Pacha NYC. He tends to kill it there. Since last November, he has played there four times, all yielding incredible results. Sunnery James and Ryan Marciano are nothing to scoff at, either. They will be opening and we will be meeting up with them Electric Zoo-style. We’ll also have a full recap of that madness next week. Also on Friday, we’ll be making our rounds to David Berrie and Justin Martin.

Pacha NYC and Cielo. They are the clubs pulling the hottest acts for this fall season. Hands down.
Pacha NYC is celebrating its 6-year anniversary, this December. Now, before you crucify the beat-hungry-brain-trust for celebrating a 6-year anniversary (because, honestly, who celebrates a 6-year anniversary?) know that they are roping in gigantic acts for the event. As word leaked out nearly a month ago about Hardwell making his Pacha NYC debut on Dec. 3, we thought that was it. What we now know, though, is Martin Solvieg, R3hab and Quintino will be accompanying him. The following weekend, Fedde Le Grand will enter the booth. Though, that did leak out in advance, a-la Hardwell, Pacha NYC good a fantastic job keeping secrete who would be joining him. That would be Deniz Koyu. Presale tickets here.
The dance floor at Cielo will be getting hotter as the temperature dips going into the winter. On Nov. 17 the Swedish DJ Duo, Cazzete, will satisfy any electro craving you need a fix for. Lots of energy and loud noises. Nov. 22 they will bring Norman Doray for a rare appearance in NYC. New York’s own Junior Sanchez and Gina Turner will be spinning on Dec. 6.
Where We’ll Be
Now, before I get stoned by our faithful readers for listing Pauly D as one of the shows you should attend, know that the Halloween Monday is slim pickins in terms of big DJ’s. The Webster Hall Halloween parade after party is quite promising. People have called it the best Halloween party in the country. We will be at Congorock Thursday and Porter Robinson + Madeon Friday. After Robinson’s stunning set at Electric Zoo, we wouldn’t want to miss an opportunity to see him live. Madeon, if you didn’t know, is a 17-year-old French prodigy that burst on to the scene with his remix of Deadmau5′ ‘Raise You Weapon,’ followed by his 39-song mash up, ‘Pop Culture‘ It is his first time in America and a treat indeed.
Recently Announced Shows A-Trak will be at Lavo Nov. 17. Lavo will continue to pull in the big acts as Tiesto will be there a few weeks later on Dec. 1.
New weekly post here at EO. Every Wednesday (since weekends start a little early in our corner of New York) we will be posting the notable upcoming shows, running from Wednesday to Tuesday, in the Tri-state area. If a big DJ is spinning we will let you know. Also, you can see where we’ll be and what big events were announced that week.

Where We’ll Be
The fall line up has been exceptionally strong, even better than the summer. This week is no exception. Tomorrow you can find us front and center at Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike. It’s rare to see these guys in New York, let alone the United States, so we’ll be taking full advantage
What better way to end a monster 2011 and ring in a, possibly, bigger 2012? One last performance in New York City, of course.
Just announced a few hours ago, with limited details, the one and only, Avicii will be spinning somewhere in the city that never sleeps, on Dec. 31, 2011. More information on the venue and tickets will be available on Thursday, here
Avicii has gotten acquainted quite well with the New York area, this year. With shows at Pacha NYC, Provocateur, Governors Island, Neptunes and next Friday at Glo. Something about this city always brings him back sooner rather than later.
Enjoy this epic trailer and stay tuned for more details!
