It’s official, the minimix is passé. In its place we have the megamix – tidbits of a mega volume of songs woven together for your maximum listening enjoyment. The encroachment of the megamix is no surprise given the media overloaded state of the nation at the moment.
The Knocks capitalized upon this trend while compiling a mix that spiraled out of control, resulting in the marriage of 46 chronologically ordered tracks. The bottom line, there was just too much musical goodness to winnow anything out. Some notable throwbacks included Beyonce’s ‘Say My Name,’ penned way before there was baby Blue Ivy and Steve Angello’s edit of ‘Babylon’ by Congorock. How’s that for diverse?
