The Weekend Beat 1/4 – 1/10

2012! Perhaps the last year ever, so let’s make it a good one. Last weekend EO experienced NYC better than any other blog out there. Period. We took in Afrojack, Bassjackers, Bobby Burns and R3hab, last Thursday, to start our weekend. We even had a representative at Danny Howells’ Cielo session. We followed that up by seeing Midnight Conspiracy and Feed Me the next night, as well as Alesso. As 2012 grew close, we got some time with Avicii, Swanky Tunes, Arty, Cazette and Glenn Morrison. Also took in Deadmau5 and were there for Hyperbits live debut. We don’t play around, people. This week things slow down a bit, but there is still plenty of fantastic DJ’s to hear live over the next seven days. Let’s go.

Where We’ll Be
This weekend we have plans to see Designer Drugs at Webster Hall. The grind-house style of music they spin is fantastic. It’s like dub step with out all the ‘wub wub wub.’ Pure electro murder. Saturday we will troll over to Santos Party House for FareOh. FareOh made quite a splash in the NYC-area in 2011. He opened for Calvin Harris and Sebastian Ingrosso at Pacha NYC over the summer and has released some fantastic productions too. He even gave out a free download this week. Interesting note about one of this week’s performers. The Vampire Weekend DJ set is actually that of Chris Baio. He is a member of Vampire Weekend (one of my former favorite bands.) A trend seems to be musicians of other genres gravitating toward DJ sets. Check out what Kanye West did on New Years Eve.

Recently Announced Shows
